We are all accustomed to thinking that the most interesting megalithic structures are located outside of Russia, but this find can change everything. The Egyptian pyramids will seem like children's toys compared to what may be hidden under the lands of the North Caucasus.

In Kabardino-Balkaria there is a small village Zayukovo, near which mysterious caves were found. There is a good chance they can lead to an incredible underground complex.

The existence of a mysterious complex and caves became known from local residents. They preserved ancient legends about mysterious caves and a huge underground city, although no one knew who and when built them.

This story gained a very large turnover, and these caves began to be massively studied. The greatest interest in them was shown by the organization of Cosmopoisk. Soon she sent a research expedition to the place under the leadership of Vadim Chernobrov.

After negotiations with the locals, they took the group to the proposed entrance. However, the entrance turned out to be too small, only about 35 centimeters. As the elders said, if you get into the tunnels to which this entrance led, you can find yourself in the middle of a large underground city.

Chernobrov suggested that this could not be the main entrance, and they went to explore the nearby area. As it turned out, not in vain. Soon they discovered a large crevice that could have served as the main entrance. To be honest, I did not find information, whether this crevice was investigated specifically or not, but there is information that is more interesting.

Local speleologist Artur Zhemukhov found another passage, and told about it to historians. Victor and Maria Kotlyarovs became interested in the find (those historians to whom Arthur told about the find), and began to actively talk about it.

The most interesting thing is that this cave has been explored, and there are a lot of good photos! I would also like to mention that Artur Zhemukhov is no longer alive, he has a blessed memory …

I am sorry to pay close attention to the processing of walls and blocks.

In the photo above, you can clearly see that the blocks are well processed and have a clear shape. This hints to us about its artificial origin.

Mysterious passages and voids stretch for many kilometers, but even so, some cavers managed to get to their bottom. They were Igor Kommel and Pavel Sofin.

Thanks to their efforts, we can see incredible photos.

After a long study of the caves, the researchers were able to draw up a rough plan. This is how it looks.

Some parts of the caves are made of well-worked blocks, the weight of which can reach several hundred tons. If you look closely at the photographs, you can see such walls, which can only be processed artificially.

Many small holes were discovered in the caves, which were clearly not intended for the movement of people through them. They went to great depths, and the researchers could not determine exactly where.

Based on the structures of the caves and small holes in them, a version was put forward that these premises were of a technogenic nature. They are somewhat similar to pyramids, in which there are also many passages, some 1x1 meters, and are clearly not intended for people.

At the moment, it is difficult to say exactly what we are dealing with. And even with the most accurate schemes, I suppose we will not be able to either.

Such a large-scale find was not bypassed by scientists either. Their opinions remain neutral so far, although they try to argue for the natural formation of the cave.

For example, Vera Davidenko adheres to a more restrained version, and is sure that all caves with cavities could have formed naturally. By the way, Vera is the head of the Kabardino-Balkarian geological exploration expedition.

Albert Emkuzhev, head of the subsoil use department in Kabardino-Balkaria, agrees with her. True, he believes that the caves could have been processed by humans. Because of this, the blocks have such a smooth and finished shape.

A professor from the Moscow Mining University agreed with the artificial origin of the caves. He got a sample from the caves for analysis, which interested him later. As Alexander Pankratenko explained, he had never seen anything like it before. After viewing the photographs, he agreed that the caves were most likely of artificial origin, but further analysis was needed.

The expert on the history of the Caucasus, Viktor Kotlyarov, is also sure that the caves are of artificial origin. He says that he showed their photos to various specialists, and they all confirmed his version. Do not forget that Viktor Kotlyarov is a competent historian, and his opinion should be listened to.

At the moment, many of the most active researchers of this story have died, and no news has been heard about it.

The origin and purpose of these caves remains open to question. If they can ever prove that they were created artificially, then it will become the largest megalithic object on Earth.
