Japanese concern Nissan announced the development of a brain-car interface (B2V) that will allow drivers to control vehicles with their minds. A system that reads signals from the brain is able to anticipate actions - for example, it can step on the gas pedal or turn before the person himself does it.

The technology is based on the electroencephalography (EEG) method: an electrode cap is put on the driver's head, which records the activity of the brain, and artificial intelligence algorithms interpret the signals. According to the vice president of Nissan, Daniel Shillachi, the B2V system will be able to reduce the reaction speed to half a second.

“Most people who think about autonomous driving have a very impersonal vision of the future where people give up control of their cars,” he said. "B2V technology does the opposite." In addition, the system is able to anticipate the driver's actions. She can, for example, turn on the air conditioning or heated seats if he gets hot or cold, reports NBC.

Visitors to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018, which is held in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12, can test the Nissan system on themselves.
