Lviv region, the face of the Mother of God appeared on an ordinary stump
Three local girls noticed him first.
“We were returning from the neighboring village of Berezhnitsa, where we went to watch football,” says 13-year-old Bogdana Petekh. - Suddenly we see cows running from the pasture, and the shepherds at this time peacefully sleep under a tree. We looked around to call them, and over the neighboring, once broken pear - a bright shine!.. We froze in surprise! And then the image of the Mother of God in a white robe appeared on the stump. She looked towards the village, and an angel hovered above her.
The girls immediately ran home and described everything that happened to them to their parents. They told the children to be silent: they say, there is no need to brag, it is still not known what the sign promises, but the next day the girlfriends could not resist and again went to the stump. We took several photos there on a mobile phone and showed them to the village children. Many saw the same image in the pictures: the Mother of God in a white robe with a rosary around her neck. Soon the whole village began to talk about the miracle, and then the Zhydachiv district, and the whole Lviv region. Already on Tuesday, eight priests held a service at the mystical place. According to Natalia Petekh, Bogdana's mother, at that moment the face was much clearer. But in the afternoon the Mother of God is not visible well, and not everyone is able to see her. But in the evening, the outlines become brighter, especially from the side of the road.
In addition, everyone observes Mary in a different way. For example, Father Yaroslav from the village of Berezhnitsa saw behind the Mother of God a male figure in dark clothes, embracing Her and little Jesus in Her arms. And Father Vladimir from the village of Zhuravkiv at first did not believe in a miracle at all: it seemed to him that the white paints showing through on the tree were ordinary lime. He even ran his hand over the image, but that … remained clean. “When the Mother of God appears in a dark robe, it’s bad luck,” says Father Yaroslav. - Remember at least Her appearance shortly before the tragedy in Chernobyl. But when the Most Pure Virgin comes to light, as now, good news should be expected. The villagers have their own explanation of the miracle. Many decades ago, a man hanged himself on a tree growing at the fork between Zhuravkiv and Berezhnitsa. For a long time this road was considered devilish,there were frequent car accidents in which people died. The priests have sanctified it many times, but to no avail. The appearance of the Mother of God means that at last the Blessed Virgin took the village under her protection.
