In the town of Guchland, Virginia (USA), a married couple, Peter and Maria Ripp, found several clots of an unusual jelly-like substance on their lawn.

According to their version, it may be that very mysterious "star jelly" (angel hair). This is the name of a strange substance of unknown origin, which is often found after rain and on which scientists still have no consensus.

Experts collected samples of "jelly" from the Rip site and studied it under a microscope. Then they stated that the sample had no cellular structure or other signs of a living organism. One theory is that it might be some kind of water-based polymer used in potting mixes.

However, this version does not explain how this polymer got into the Ripps' yard. According to the spouses, they did not bring bags of soil with them and did not carry out any work in the yard recently.

Ripps can be believed that these are elderly spouses who do the most in the yard, it is mowing their lawn. Therefore, how the substance got to them and that it actually still remains a mystery.
