Some of the strange creatures that people meet from time to time are very difficult to give any description. Outwardly, they were something shapeless and filled with a soft substance, like a lump of mucus.

One such case was described in the book by Frank Edwards "Strange World" and it happened in 1950. Policemen Joe Connan and John Collins patrolled the streets of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at night.

Turning the corner of another quiet street, they were amazed to see a large purple slimy object on the asphalt in front of them. The headlights of the police car illuminated it well. The confused policemen went outside and began to examine the mucus.

The lump was 6 feet (180 cm) wide and only 1 foot (30 cm) thick, that is, it was something like a "jelly worm". The mass trembled a little and vibrated like the same jelly, and its surface seemed wet and shiny. In addition, it emitted a small glow, as if it had bioluminescence.

The officers were convinced that this was some kind of living creature and they called their colleagues James Cooper and Sergeant Joe Cook to help. When the latter arrived, they were also amazed at what they saw.

But then all four of them had a sudden idea to pick up the object and move it to another place. And as soon as people's hands touched the "jelly", it instantly disappeared, leaving only a small staining and faint-smelling trail on the policemen's hands.

Another encounter with live slime occurred 8 years after the incident in Philadelphia, and this time it happened in Sweden. This case was reported by the recently deceased popular anomalous researcher Brad Steiger in his book Strangers from the Skies.

On December 20, 1958, two Swedes, Hans Gustafsson and Stig Rydberg, were driving along the highway from the city of Höganes. It was early morning and the whole road was in dense fog. To avoid an accident, the Swedes decided to pull over and wait. They got out of the car to get some air and then noticed in the nearby forest some kind of glow in the fog.

Curious Swedes went 50 meters into the forest and then saw in a clearing a disco-shaped object standing on two supports, and a multi-colored glow was visible from the hatches of the object. But it was not the UFO that surprised and frightened the Swedes, but the jelly-like lumps next to it here and there, which were about 90 cm high.

The lumps bounced a little and at the same time hung in the air not high above the ground and they had no limbs, no face, or anything else. They instantly surrounded two people, and then began to "stick" to them, so that the hands and feet of the Swedes sank into these lumps, which, according to their descriptions, were like "magnetic dough."

The lumps gave off a strong unpleasant smell "like ether and burnt sausage" and they tried to drag the two people into the UFO. Rydberg miraculously managed to escape and he rushed to run away from the living lumps that rushed after him.

The Swede managed to run to the car and then he was surprised to see that the lumps let go of Gustafsson and he also runs after him, and the lumps themselves disappeared into the UFO and flew into the sky. When the UFO flew away, the frightened and dazed people continued to smell a very bad smell in the air and also found that their bodies were covered with scratches and bruises.

For a while, both Swedes were silent about what happened, but when they finally decided to tell about it, their story became very popular.

The next case dates back to 1962 and was witnessed by Bruce Hallenbeck, a 10-year-old resident of Kinderhook, New York. The boy said that he was walking in the woods with his cousin when both heard a loud, piercing whistle. When they looked around for a whistling object, they noticed a small white ball behind one of the trees.

When they came closer, it turned out to be a clearly living spherical creature. Although he had no facial features, it moved so frighteningly that both boys hurried out of the forest out of fear.

Two years later, in the same area, another person met the likely same white creature. This time, he described it as a large white piece of slime moving smoothly at the foot of the hill. When the ball went towards the man, he felt a threat from him and fled for the weapon. The man managed to find a shovel and pitchfork nearby and with them he returned to the hill where the object was still floating.

When he began to look at this spherical creature rushing from one tree to another, he lost all desire to attack him. Either he took pity on him, or considered him much more dangerous. One way or another, the man decided to just leave.

A few years later, in the same forest near Kinderhook, two teenagers, Barry Scott and Russell Lee, went camping with a tent. As they prepared for the night and pitched their tent, one of them noticed a rounded white creature moving smoothly through the trees.

However, this time it began to take different forms. At first it was "like a bell", then "the figure is like the Virgin Mary." Then the strange creature disappeared into the forest. Since then, no one else has seen the "Kinderhook Lump" here and what it was like remains a mystery.
