A frightened man constructs a wooden cross from these planks and directs a homemade crucifix onto a "possessed" step-ladder. This does not help, as the "living" staircase eventually folds by itself and falls to the floor, and the self-proclaimed exorcist, unable to cope with the invisible devilry, retreats in horror.
Skeptics believe that a fishing line was tied to the ladder, but it is hard to believe that in this way the ladder can be forced to take those "steps" that are visible on the record, and not just drag it across the floor.
