News from the world of two of the best things in the world - sex and cyberpunk. According to a study published in The Journal of Sex Research, 60% of all Americans have sex in cars at one time or another. And by 2040, humans are likely to copulate almost exclusively in self-driving cars. Moreover, such a fate awaits almost all of humanity.

British professor Scott Cohen from the University of Surrey published Autonomous Mobility and the Future of Urban Tourism, in which he talked about the unexpected consequences of the massive introduction of autopilot on the roads. While futurists are imagining abstract utopian (or dystopian) paintings, Cohen asks the main question:
How will the advent of self-driving cars affect our leisure time?
In fact, answering this question, you can understand that machines with advanced AI will change our rhythm of life as radically as cars did in their time.

Scott Cohen says that self-driving cars will primarily compete with hotels, restaurants and, to some extent, cinemas. In such cars it will be possible to sleep peacefully, watch a movie and eat without worrying about the trip. Relaxed, just like home. You need to understand that the car of the future will not be like the current one: why make two rows of seats, if you can arrange something like a comfortable room? Hence, cardinal changes in everyday life arise.
Bars will both win and lose from autopilot competition
Now any citizen can drink as much as he wants - if only he can get to the car door. You don't have to worry about drunk driving. On the other hand, with such freedom of movement, the value of local drinking houses is greatly reduced. Unsurprisingly, the emerging bars on wheels, which themselves travel to crowded places, will one day replace the good old pubs.
Roughly the same in the era of autopilot awaits red-light districts. Especially in countries where prostitution is legalized.
Brothels will become something like food courts on the road
A cyberpunk house of tolerance on wheels touring music festivals is a great idea for a fantasy novel. With simple street prostitutes in this sense, everything will become even easier. So Scott Cohen predicts a strong increase in the level of prostitution (unless by that time everyone has switched to sex robots).
The same applies to even more controversial leisure activities, such as dens and drug use in general. Brothels will also be able to become mobile, and the absence of the need to be at least somewhat adequate in order to travel somewhere will greatly complicate the work of the drug police (if it exists at all by that time).
The beginning of the massive transition to cars with an autopilot is postponed by the futurists in the 2040s. So it's not so long to wait for global changes in the rhythm of life.
If you believe Cohen, the people of the future will do the same things in cars with an autopilot as shift workers do on trains:
drinking irresponsibly, sleeping, eating questionable street food, having sex with prostitutes and, often, taking drugs. In general, a brave new world in which the value of the car will rise to the level of "Mad Max", and people will again think that leading a nomadic lifestyle is not so bad.
