The Teletskoye Lake, located in Altai, is a place of striking beauty, while at the same time strange and mysterious events take place in these parts. Many people died in it, and some under very mysterious circumstances.

The lake got its name about four centuries ago. Then the local Teles tribes lived near the lake. They themselves called the Golden Lake. The reason that the water in the lake is so cold is due to its feeding by mountain rivers. This also allows her to be incredibly clean and transparent.
They say that somewhere at the bottom of the lake, riders from among the Mongol-Tatar warriors can be "mothballed" in this way. Local legends tell that a whole detachment of armed horsemen went to the bottom when they tried to cross the lake. They didn’t know that the water here was already very cold a few meters from the shore. Neither horses nor people were ready for this and could not swim out.
Not so long ago, a Robinson helicopter, on which former Deputy Prime Minister of the Altai Republic Anatoly Bannykh and Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the State Duma Alexander Kosopkin, were flying, fell into Lake Teletskoye. The helicopter went under water where the bottom is at a depth of more than two hundred meters. For more than a month, active searches were conducted, but nothing was found.
In another case, a ship overturned on the lake, on which twelve people went on a sightseeing trip. All of them died, and the bodies were found only after two months.
Many consider all these incidents mysterious and mystical, but experts and rescuers say that the lake itself is a dangerous place due to the changeable weather and wind, unexpectedly falling fogs and snowfall.
Nevertheless, the lake attracts many people who want to look at its unspoiled beauty. With a coastline of seventy-eight kilometers, it has 18 tourist bases and campgrounds. There are many different fish in the lake, which attracts people who like to fish.
