A puppy with five legs was born to a Chelyabinsk mongrel. The dog was sheltered, and now they are looking for owners for her brothers and sisters
Little Bela was found in an abandoned private house. There she lived with her brothers and sisters. Of the entire litter, the baby was the only one born with an ugliness - the mongrel has five legs. Kind people took the sick puppy home, and the rest of the little ones began to be attached to neighbors and friends.
When we arrived at the “Save Me” animal protection fund, two-month-old Belochka was lying on the table with her nose buried in soft paws and almost did not react to annoying guests.
- She feels bad?

The fifth, underdeveloped limb sticks out of Bela's right leg. This makes the leg shorter, the puppy does not lean on it and limps greatly.
- It's amazing how the animal survived at all, - Karen shrugs, - Dogs help themselves with their paws during feeding, massage the mother's nipple. She could just starve to death.

- No, this anatomical abnormality is called "polydactyly". When more fingers grow than needed, this happens to people. But Bela's finger crawled out in the other joint and developed into a paw. While Bela is still a puppy and the bones are soft, the leg can be amputated, only first you need to do an X-ray to see how much it has grown together.
After examining the puppy, the doctors pronounced the verdict: polydactyly - many fingers. Due to a gene mutation, an extra finger has developed into a paw, which greatly interferes: it is difficult for a dog to move on five limbs, so it will not be able to get food for itself and escape from danger.
Now the puppy is being prepared for surgery: the necessary vaccinations are given, and drugs are given against worms. We have specially developed a balanced diet, because the little ones move little and can become obese. It will take at least three months to restore the immunity of a yard dog. Indeed, with a weakened body, it is impossible for a dog to sit on the table with a surgeon, otherwise it may not be able to withstand anesthesia.
