These days, foul-mouthed people can be heard everywhere: on the street and in the family, on public transport and at work, on TV screens and even in educational institutions. However, no one who uses swear words realizes how great and sometimes irreparable harm is done by such speeches both to the foul language itself and to everyone around.

Pagan traditions

At the same time, in ancient times, people knew what power swear words have. For this reason, in countries that worshiped pagan gods, the right to use such words, considered sacred, belonged only to the priests. Bad words played a special role in the states of the East, where phallic cults were practiced for many centuries: in Ancient Babylon. Canaan. Assyria. In the religious practices of these countries, child sacrifices and ritual prostitution were common. Priests and magicians, with the help of swear words, praised the powerful and bloodthirsty deities Baal and Astarte, summoned spirits. - they cleaned the dwellings and expelled demons from human thaws. During special holidays, often associated with bloody sacrifices and unbridled orgies and coinciding with the day of the spring solstice, servants of pagan cults pronounced words-incantations, which were intended to symbolize the "conception" of the material world.

There is evidence of how, with the help of obscene curses, the priests sent diseases and even death to their enemies, depriving pregnant women of their long-awaited fruit.

Such traditions turned out to be so tenacious that even with the spread of Islam up to the middle of the 16th century, in some countries of the East there were sects that worshiped their pagan gods by means of "bad" words. Foul language came to Western Europe in the 3rd century BC. Together with the raids of nomadic tribes, it flourished in lush bloom in the era of the late Roman Empire. But with the final approval of Christianity, ritual abuse was done away with, but swear words entered the everyday life of wide sections of the population.

Foul language in Russia

As historical sources testify, the modern and widespread belief that swearing came to Russia along with the Mongol-Tatar yoke is wrong. In fact, even in pre-Christian times, the magi of Prince Gostomysl, the priests of the tribes of the Polyans, Krivichs and Drevlyans used sacred "shameful" words in rituals dedicated to the cult of fertility, glorifying the mystical union of heaven and earth. In the same period, during the wedding ceremonies, the so-called “crimson songs” were widespread, in which the bride insulted the groom with obscene language. It was believed that in this way evil spirits were driven away from a young family, and the marriage would be long, lasting and consonant.

It is known that Prince Vladimir himself, before his historical baptism, was not distinguished by high morality, who surrounded himself with a host of concubines and "humiliating" Magi, in the last years of his life with fire and sword eradicated pagan traditions, including those associated with swear words. Indeed, since the 10th century, swearing is gradually disappearing from the culture of Kievan and then Muscovite Rus. Even the smerds did not indulge in foul language, considering it a great sin. However, as historians suggest, in the XII-XIII centuries, the class of pagan clergymen finally disappeared - the Slavic Magi and priests, who knew everything about the terrible power of the "shameful" word and protected their fellow tribesmen from rash use of abusive expressions. Swearing gradually became the norm of communication among not only commoners, but also the princely nobility. For instance, historiographers describe Tsar Ivan the Terrible as an inveterate and very skillful swearing man who was not ashamed to use obscenities even in communication with church hierarchs.

The real struggle with "shameful" words began after the Great Troubles and the accession of the Romanov dynasty on the Russian throne in the 17th century. It is known that Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich introduced public punishment with rods for the use of swear words. His son Alexei Mikhailovich issued a special decree in 1648, according to which it was forbidden to pronounce obscene words in public places, as well as during wedding ceremonies and other celebrations. Under Emperor Paul I, both a soldier and an officer who allowed themselves to use obscene expressions were subject to severe punishment with gauntlets.

Even in the atheistic Soviet period, swearing was equated with hooliganism, and the person who committed it, in accordance with the administrative code, was punished with correctional labor for up to 15 days.

Mat in the service of Satan

Nowadays, in all civilized countries of the world, there are bans on the use of profanity in speech. They are dictated both by the accepted norms of public morality, and by the subconscious understanding that mate is a verbal manifestation of the dark forces of the other world on our material level. The expression "Satan growls through the mouth of a swearing man" has not only a figurative meaning, but also directly indicates who is under whose authority the lover of strong words is. Even professional psychologists and psychiatrists in the 20th century recognized that a person's habit of using mat in their speech is much more difficult to eradicate than alcohol or nicotine addiction. For example, already in our century, there are cases when employees, simply unable to withstand the "verbal post", themselves quit the company, where a ban on obscene expressions was introduced.

For more than one century, physicians have known the disease, in which sometimes a well-mannered and highly educated person suddenly begins to uncontrollably pour out selective street abuse. Until now, medicine cannot explain the nature of such seizures. However, the Christian Church unambiguously interprets this as demonic possession. A person becomes a victim of the dark essences of the subtle world. Researchers of such a paranormal phenomenon, approaching the study of their patients from a theological point of view, write that often such people first hear strange voices pouring streams of swearing. Sometimes, when talking to someone, a person at some point with surprise realizes that the interlocutor has switched to mate. The usual literary words, phrases and expressions, which the sick person used widely until recently, gradually, as it were, erased from memory and imperceptibly replaced by abusive ones. After that, an irreversible process begins in the victim's mind, which cannot be stopped by the methods of modern psychiatry.

Destructive word

Back in 1989, a group of enthusiastic Novosibirsk scientists under the leadership of Sergei Bronnikov conducted an interesting study. For several years, scientists have observed two groups of people. Representatives of one of them actively used obscene words in their speech, while in the other, for reasons of principle and due to the educational level of the members of the group, swearing was banned. As a result, Bronnikov found that the participants in the experiment from the second group had the same physical condition as younger people - five or even ten years less than their actual age. The members of the first group showed negative age-related changes and early-onset chronic diseases.

Already at the beginning of the XXI century, a number of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk scientists independently came to the conclusion that obscene words, like radioactive radiation, destroy living tissues, negatively affecting their genetic and cellular structure. The reason for this is the special wave resonance created by such words. A person who actively uses foul language, more often than other members of society, develops chronic fatigue syndrome, diseases of the cardiovascular and genitourinary systems, and malignant tumors. Violations at the genetic level lead to the fact that children of such people are often born with serious mental and physical disabilities, with age they end up in a criminal environment and sink to the social bottom.

Foul language is not just "bad" words, sometimes spoken in hearts or as a joke. This, unfortunately, is a person's way of life, his internal organization, which corresponds to the vibrations of the soul, which fills the world with filth and malice. This is an epidemic that affects our society incredibly quickly, which can only be overcome with high spirituality and a true inner culture, which, alas, has become a rarity these days.
