At all times, cats have been the personification of mysticism, witchcraft or dark power. Ancient Egypt with the goddess Bastet, medieval witches with black cats.

In general, cats were revered, then hated, then attributed to them nine lives and endowed with the ability to see spirits and ghosts. So in Prague, it was not without its own cat, more precisely

There is Panska Street in the historical center of the Czech capital. The first townspeople settled here in the 14th century, in the 15th century the nobility moved here, hence the name.

It is known that Prague was not spared by the plague epidemic. Carts with the dead rode along Panskaya Street.

One well-to-do family, a husband, wife and two children, who lived in a beautiful two-story house on Panskaya along with an elderly, envious servant, did not regret this terrible illness. He served the family for more than 20 years, over the years he terribly hated his master and, instead of leaving his master, plotted revenge.

The servant greatly liked the owner's wealth - luxurious furniture, wife's jewelry, expensive decoration of the mansion. And so the neighbors began to die from the plague, then the owner's daughter fell ill, his wife developed symptoms, and a week later the owner of the beautiful house was buried.

If the rest, still healthy and living neighbors in a hurry collected their belongings and drove away from the plague city, then the servant was in no hurry to leave the street. In the midst of the common grief, he rejoiced, his heart fluttered, because he saw in tragedy and death a hope for himself.

The owner has a younger son, and it was he who inherited the wealth of his family. The servant was not at a loss, he came to the steward and said that his master, on his deathbed, begged him to take care of his son.

The steward believed the servant, but demanded a document from him that would confirm the custody rights and the servant's words. The liar forged the papers and the signature of the owner, because he served the family for decades and learned to forge the signature of his master.

The document said that the son would inherit his father's wealth only after reaching a certain age. If something happens to the son, then all rights to the property will pass to the servant.

Needless to say, after a while, the boy went missing. They were looking for a child, but in vain.

The servant portrayed grief. In fact, it was he who drowned the boy in the river one night.

In addition to the heir, with whom the servant sorted out from the owners, he got a big black cat. The animal disappeared the same day the boy died.

And in the past, the servant, now - the pan became the legal owner of the property and a beautiful mansion. The killer was pleased with himself and on the very first night went to sleep on the master's bed. Panska street in Prague

But he could not sleep well. In the night, he woke up sweating from a sharp pain in his chest.

When the servant opened his eyes, he saw a large black cat on his chest. It was the same cat that disappeared with the death of the owner's son.

The animal was furious and desperately tore at the servant's chest with its claws. In the morning the servant woke up with scratched chest, arms and face.

On the second night, it all happened again. And so it was for a whole week.

Deliriously, the servant was looking for a black cat to deal with the animal, but he was nowhere to be found. Then the servant decided to spend the night with some neighbors. Everything was calm.

At night the servant was tormented by thirst and he went to the kitchen to drink some water. Outside the window, he heard a soft meow, then the servant decided that the chance should not be missed and the cursed animal should be killed.

The servant ran out into the night street after the cat … In the morning the neighbors found the servant dead.

He was lying on the sidewalk, and his whole face and hands were scratched. It turned out that all this time the servant himself tore his skin on his chest and face.

The strange death surprised the neighbors, but they decided that the old man had simply gone mad. Rumor has it that when they came to demolish the mansion, the workers found a mummy of an animal in the attic. Unsurprisingly, it was a huge black cat. The house was demolished, then another building was built in its place, then a third …

No one remembers exactly what number that mansion had, but until now, on a full moon, a large, beautiful black cat walks along Panskaya Street, which sometimes quietly purrs, looking at the moon.
