While some psychologists and natural scientists are skeptical about psychic abilities, many believe that there is something like that.
For example, Oxford alumnus and author of Science and Psychological Phenomena: Breaking Down the Building of Skepticism, Chris Carter cites two opinion polls showing that most scientists believe in such abilities.
More than 500 scientists took part in one of the polls. 56 percent of them considered the psychic abilities of a person "an established fact" or recognized their existence as "high probability". Another study was conducted with the participation of more than 1,000 scientists - this time, 67 percent of those surveyed considered telepathy to be either "an established fact" or "a very likely phenomenon."
Below you will find several cases of the manifestation of psychic abilities, some of them are quite famous stories from the past, and others were gleaned from various social media.
1. Premonition in a pizzeria
I worked in a small pizzeria and at some point I felt like I was about to die. Just an incredible feeling of near death. I took time off from the owner and went home and immediately felt better.
On the same day, the pizzeria was attacked and robbed, pointing a barrel of weapons at the workers.

2. Timely tantrum
One day I was about to leave the house with my 3-year-old son, and he had a terrible tantrum. He shouted that he would not go outside, because he did not want to die. Ten minutes later, the seizure disappeared like a hand, and he was ready to leave.
And when we left the house, we saw a terrible accident on the road right in front of our house - exactly in the place that we should have passed, if not for this sudden hysteria.
3. A little girl's dream
A little girl named Eryl Jones predicted her own death, as well as the death of her classmates, which happened in Wales in October 1966.
Eryl once told her mom that she was not afraid to die because "I will be there with Peter and June." A few days later, on October 20, she told her dream, in which her school was all in something black, and it was empty inside.
The next day, October 21, 1966, the worst landslide in the history of Wales occurred. As a result of the collapse of a slag heap on the outskirts of Eberfan, which covered the school, 116 children were buried alive. Ten-year-old Jones was found next to her classmates Peter and June.
4. The Road to Freedom by Harriet Tubman
Harriet Tubman became famous for leading hundreds of slaves to freedom in the 19th century. It was said that she had visions that allowed her to safely avoid all dangers. She saw herself and her charges approaching the next trap in advance and changed routes in time.
5. Foresight of the autistic child
I worked with an autistic child who used to talk about himself in the third person. Once, when I was bathing him, he suddenly began repeating: "His mother is coming, his mother is coming …"
I decided that his mother had warned about her arrival the night before, packed his things and waited for him to come soon. When his mother really came soon, I told her that as a son I was happy about her soon arrival, to which the woman replied: "I did not tell him anything."
And she also said that she was once driving and spoke with her son on the phone. Suddenly he told her to be careful "because of the deer." She didn't pay much attention to it, but she slowed down just in case. A minute later, a deer jumped out onto the road ahead - approximately in the place where it would have been if it had not slowed down.
6. A come true nightmare
The worst dream in my life is the one in which I saw my father die. There was no picture in this dream. It consisted of emptiness and darkness. But the feeling of sleep was so … horrible.
I felt with every cell of my being that my father was no longer there. He will never talk to me again. How many of his plans will not come true, how many hopes will not come true …
I began to sob, so loudly that I woke up. I was terrified. I was shaking all over. I thought it was true that he really died. And then I heard him snoring behind the wall. I finally realized that it was only a dream and breathed a sigh of relief.
And two weeks later, my father died suddenly.
7. The prophetic dream of Abraham Lincoln
A few days before his assassination, Abraham Lincoln slept aboard the River Queen. He dreamed that he was at the White House, where the funeral ceremony was taking place. Lincoln asked one of the guards who was being buried. “President,” he replied.
8. A strange sign that connected dream and reality
When I was in my senior year, I dreamed of a purple five dollar bill. There was a background purple on the obverse, and a large purple 5 on the back in the corner.
I woke up and thought: "What an absurd dream, why is the money of such a strange color."
Several months passed, I worked as a cashier, and one day an elderly woman came to the store and handed me five dollars. I noticed a slight purple hue on the note and my eyes widened. I turned the bill over and saw a large purple five on the back.
9. Prophetic dream about the explosion of the "Challenger"
When I was little, I dreamed that I went outside and saw a crowd of people. They looked up into the sky, pointed at a huge fireball and cried. Nobody explained to me what had happened, and when I woke up, I decided that it must have exploded some big comet.
A couple of days later, on April 4, 1983, the Challenger tragedy struck. The frames of the explosion, which were shown on the news, exactly coincided with what I saw in my dream.
10. "Eerie" vision
One day I had a vision concerning one of our family's close friends.
I saw him in the water, face down. It was terrible and I tried to get this picture out of my head. Then I had another vision - he was lying in bed, depressed and there was a wheelchair nearby.
It was something very bright and strong, I have never experienced anything like this - neither before nor after. I told my mother about this, and I remember trying to convince her that "something bad will happen to our friend."
15 years later, he accidentally ran into the water on the beach and broke his spine. He almost drowned because he was paralyzed and could not immediately get out of the water. He is now confined to a wheelchair.
