Chinese archaeologists have announced that the remains of an ancient people living in China show unusual characteristics, ancient-origins.net writes, citing a Chinese source.
Archaeologists have circulated a photograph of a skull found in an ancient grave at Alaer (Aralsk) in South Xinjiang, China. The skull shows an unusual characteristic - the teeth of the ancient man were oriented vertically, not horizontally. In addition, the researchers found that the skeleton in the tomb was 2.3 meters (7 feet 6 inches).

The Qiang people are recognized as one of the "first ancestors" of today's culture due to their ancient roots - they were mentioned in ancient Chinese texts, as well as in the inscriptions on oracle bones 3000 years ago. However, the ancient Qiang people mentioned in these ancient texts were a wide group of nomadic peoples and ancestors of the people of the modern Tibetan-Burmese language group, so they are not equivalent to the modern Qiang people.
Interestingly, the region where the tomb was discovered is in the same place where the famous Caucasian mummies were found near the Tarim River. The mummies had blond or brown hair, elongated noses and skulls, slender bodies, and large, deep-set eyes. Like the Qiang skeleton, the Tarim mummies had long bodies. Could there be a connection between them?
