An American woman named Mary told an amazing story that happened to her family in the winter of 1957, when she was only 5 years old. The preschooler was then traveling with her parents from Reidsville to Greensboro, North Carolina. At a certain moment, our heroes noticed an elderly couple walking quietly along the side of the road. Alas, the unfamiliar man and woman walked in the opposite direction, and Mary's relatives did not have the opportunity to drop the pensioners.
Nevertheless, when the family returned from Greensboro, they saw the same couple, walking again to Raidsville and, it seems, almost did not budge. One might think that this man and woman walked in circles all day. Surprised, our heroes offered to give a ride to the spouses. They willingly got into the car, thanked for their help and said that they were heading to Reidsville on some business. Buses did not go there, and the pensioners, they say, had to walk.
Little Mary, sitting in front of her parents, immediately realized that something was wrong with the strangers. First, they were dressed completely out of season. It was freezing outside, but the woman was wearing only a light dress, and her wife was wearing a light shirt and overalls with suspenders. In addition, the girl drew attention to the fact that the man had incredibly beautiful eyes of deep blue color, some kind of inhuman, almost fabulous.
Noticing with what interest the girl turning in the front seat was watching him, the fellow traveler smiled good-naturedly, took out of his pocket an outlandish object that looked like a futuristic stationery pen, and handed it to the child. To her colossal regret, Mary inadvertently lost the gift the same year, not having time to find out its purpose. Now a 66-year-old woman suspects that it could be a valuable artifact that has no analogues in our world.
Mary's parents, of course, also noticed that the fellow travelers were poorly dressed, and insisted that Bradley (as the couple called themselves) stay at their house, where they would be given warm clothes. The couple did not mind, although they began to show some concern, as if they did not plan to interact with our characters so closely at all. In the end, Bradley was not only dressed, but well fed. And then something truly strange and incredible happened.
An elderly man and woman suddenly disappeared from the house! They were left alone in the kitchen for a few seconds, and when Mary's mother returned there, the guests were gone. Our heroine still wonders who it was: aliens from another planet, unusual ghosts, immigrants from a parallel world, or time travelers. From these individuals, among other things, some kind of incomprehensible, very powerful energy emanated, easily perceptible as something bright and happy, which is unusual for ordinary people.
