British biologists recently questioned Bigfoot's existence. They say that the genetic material they studied belonged to bears and goats.
However, Igor Burtsev, director of the International Center for Hominology, a well-known cryptozoologist, is sure that the study was not conducted in good faith. “There is no doubt that these creatures live in nature,” he says. "And their abilities amaze us more and more."
Igor Dmitrievich, what confuses the British in the study?
- There are many details that show: they were clearly fulfilling the order of denying Bigfoot, completely ignoring the results of other studies. And I personally know the Oxford professor Brian Sykes, one of the authors of the article. A year ago, he came to Moscow, and I gave him the available samples for study, but I never got any results from him.
And what are these "studies" that deserve attention?
- A group of scientists from the United States led by Dr. Melba Ketchum for 5 years carried out DNA analysis of biological samples (saliva, blood, urine and even a piece of skin) collected in 14 US states and two provinces of Canada. In total, 111 specimens belonging to Bigfoot were studied - this is how Bigfoot is called in North America. And it turned out that these are human hybrids with creatures unknown to science. They appeared on the territory of Europe 13-15 thousand years ago. A scientific name was proposed - homo sapiens cognatus, that is, "consanguineous man." This name has been announced to the International Zoobank, registration is pending.
If homo sapiens, then we are talking about intelligent beings?
- Yes, and we were convinced of their rationality more than once. The main thing is that they use speech. In any case, they understand the human. And this is the feature that distinguishes a thinking creature, distinguishes it, say, from monkeys. We first heard that they were talking from American Janice Carter in 2002. The Carter family from Tennessee has been in contact with Bigfoots living in the woods next to their farm since the middle of the last century. They fed them, gave them nicknames, and also compiled a dictionary of their speech, numbering about 300 words.

Basically, the words are borrowed from the languages of the Indians. And Grandpa Janice Carter tried to teach Bigfoot English. The Carters had an audio recording of the sounds that these creatures uttered. And the American specialist in cryptolinguistics (there is such a military specialty) Scott Nelson undertook to decipher them. So, he found that this is quite articulate speech and that Bigfoots pronounce words 1.5 times faster than people.
What prevented the Carters from taking photos or videos?
- Not what, but who. The big feet themselves got in the way. For some reason, they do not allow themselves to be photographed. Therefore, in the few photographic and video materials that are at the disposal of researchers, an already receding creature is captured. Cryptozoologist Anatoly Fokin from Kirov set up cameras in the Vyatka forests, hoping to photograph Bigfoot. But they have phenomenal flair and telepathic abilities. They either bypass such traps, or turn the lens away, or break the camera.

What material evidence of the snowmen have been found recently?
- They create many structures from trees and branches. They put up huts, bend and twist branches, stick poles into the ground like a palisade. In the same Vyatka forests, there are amazing structures: huge trunks weighing 200 kg, pinched between two other trunks. A man with his own hands is not able to build such a thing, and technology will not pass into these forest jungles.
At first we thought that this is how they mark the territory. But then they noticed that they leave behind patterns, some symbols, with which they probably communicate information to each other. Or perhaps they want to convey something to us. First, the same Janice Carter showed me the boulders on which these creatures carve schematic drawings. Then similar drawings began to appear in Canada, only not on stones, but on the ground. They lay them out with branches, sticks.
In Michigan, I personally saw a six-pointed star folded in this way, and at night in the area of this pattern I saw someone's glowing eyes. Around the same time, messages began to arrive from Russian regions: a resident of the Chelyabinsk region. Natalya Puzanova finds the same structures in the local forest.
Maybe the branches fell randomly?
- Natalia Puzanova put forward a version: these drawings are nothing more than runes, that is, symbols of ancient writing! Indeed, many of the images are the same. Especially common is the design in the form of two parallel sticks and the letter "X" between them. This rune is called "mannaz", it means "man", "man".
Many such signs began to appear. Cryptozoologists are trying to decipher them, some enter into communication with the Yeti through these symbols, such as Canadians Brian Bland and Randy Brisson or a researcher from Kazakhstan named Nikolai. He has long been communicating with these creatures precisely with the help of ancient Slavic runes.
