Kashkulak Cave is an anomalous zone located in the north of Khakassia. This place is considered one of the scariest in Russia. The locals nicknamed it "The Black Devil's Cave". Many centuries ago, pagans worshiped in a cave the God of procreation and the Black Devil.

Human sacrifices were made to the gods to appease them. This is confirmed by the altars, bones and stalagmite in the form of a phallus found by archaeologists. According to the legends, the cave absorbed the negative energy of ancient shamans, which spills out on curious visitors.

In 1962, a group of 20 students ventured into the cave. Returned - two girls. The first was discovered by hunters near the cave. She bit and shouted something incomprehensible. The girl was hid in a psychiatric hospital. The second was found by the police in the village of Shira. With gray hair and a deathly face, she walked through the dark alleys of the village. In her hands she was holding a stone figurine, which she did not want to give to the police. And this student was assigned to the house of sorrow, where she died three weeks later from an unknown illness. What happened to the other eighteen students is unknown.

Since then, bad rumor has spread about the Kashkulak cave. Nevertheless, it was visited by several expeditions.

One expedition, which also consisted of students, felt the full anomalous power of this ominous place. Walking around the entire cave, and already about to leave the dungeon, everyone suddenly simultaneously felt a chilling attack of horror. Young people rushed to the exit, and only in the light of the sun did fear let them go. Each of the eyewitnesses had a "face" of horror. Some saw monsters, others ravens on human bones, but the majority "appeared" a vile old shaman with a tambourine in his hand.

A few weeks later, after the group returned home, one of the participants in the campaign was found hanged in the courtyard of their own house. The guy left a strange suicide note. It was written about the stone devil who constantly persecuted him.

What does science say?

In 1987, scientists from the Novosibirsk Institute of Clinical Medicine finally became interested in the abnormal zone. The expedition members witnessed a strange phenomenon: they saw an old man who called them to him. However, scientists have suggested that this is a hallucination, and not the machinations of evil spirits. For example, infrasound at 6 hertz can cause a feeling of horror. A special laboratory was set up in the cave. Scientists carried out various measurements, as a result, a geomagnetic anomaly was established. Among the various signals, one definite impulse steadily broke through. It happened that the signal disappeared for several days, but then returned. The signal was found to be coming from the depths of the cave.

Low-frequency sound is not perceived by the human ear, but has a strong effect on the psyche. But where did it come from in the deep taiga, deep underground, a signal, moreover, similar to an artificial one? Scientists have examined the entire cave - to no avail. It was speculated that a strange source of impulses was located even deeper - under the cave. But most of all scientists are driven into a dead end by the fact that different people see the same vision - an old shaman.

The perestroika that began at that time, and then the collapse of the country with the turbulent nineties, asked much more burning questions and the phenomenon of the Kashkulak cave remained unsolved.
