Witch tree
There is a terrible legend about the Witch Tree. It stands alone between two villages - Cherkasskoye and Skripitsyno, in the Kolyshleysky district. The old willow, according to legend, has been growing alone for more than 300 years, but there is not a single dry branch on it. It seems that the green strong tree is full of youth.
According to legend, witchcraft sabbaths took place near the Witch Tree. Until now, locals bypass the place. Rumor has it that at night you can hear women's moans and screams.
The area around is also full of mysticism. So, in 2007, several unidentified objects in the form of balls appeared in the photo with the seven-domed Intercession Church in Cherkassy, they soared into the sky. In the temple itself there is a non-made cross, which was created by nature itself. The cross was found in a sawmill inside a tree.
And next to the Witch Tree once stood the Blue Stone. The villagers worshiped him. According to legend, he could influence the weather. But information about him is lost in the middle of the 20th century. According to some sources, during the Soviet era, when there was an active struggle against faith and cults, the Blue Stone was destroyed.
And someone even looked for an underground passage in these places to take possession of ancient artifacts.

Golodyaevsky pond
The pond, known for paranormal phenomena, is located 20 kilometers from the center of Mokshan towards the village of Nechaevka. In summer, an anomalous cloud appears over the pond - its appearance is stable. In the 90s, locals often saw "fireballs" hovering near the old airfield. Sometimes red balls frightened travelers on the road. Once the anomalous phenomenon was captured on camera, the picture was taken by a ufologist in 1997. And the schoolchildren of the village Otradny observed and even sketched UFOs.
Later, Penza esotericists performed rituals at the Golodyaevsky pond. Coal walking practitioners have also chosen the place.
Now Golodyaevsky Pond belongs to a private person. It has become a popular destination for anglers.
Mermaid pool
An ode to a beautiful legend is located near the dachas on Barkovka. This place is the Staritsa of the Sura River. A pool overgrown with duckweed and grass.
Legend has it that mermaids live in the pool. According to legend, on a summer evening from the side of South and West Glades above the Mermaid Pool, you can see dark clots of air, similar to plumes. Local cats constantly converge to the pool, attracted by water maidens. and the inhabitants hear sounds similar to sad sighs.
The ghost of the Klyuchevsky museum
For many years, there were rumors about a ghost living in the V. O. Klyuchevsky. The night watchmen heard the sounds of footsteps, heavy sighs. But the ghost never hurt anyone.
Researchers from Moscow became interested in the mystical museum. And in 2013 we came to Penza to study the anomalous zone. They measured electromagnetic, temperature and radiation indicators and found an anomalous zone in only one picture. After the reconstruction of the building, the ghost no longer appeared.
In the 18th century, there was a church with a cemetery next to the museum, so these places are considered anomalous.
Ghost from the Teacher's House
The house at the intersection of Kuraev and Volodarsky is better known as the Teacher's House. In Soviet times, there was a creative center for the trade union of educators.
But once the building was a Catholic church. According to legend, there was a crypt with dead priests in the basement. After the revolution, the basement was walled up, they say that the crypt scared the NKVD workers so much that they turned gray. According to another version, several counter-revolutionaries were shot and buried in the basement.
In the USSR, the ill-fated building served as an entertainment facility. In the Teacher's House we went to dances, theatrical performances. In the 80s, one of the most popular discos was held in the building.
The watchmen said that at night a loud stomp was heard in the attic, doors slammed in the house, footsteps behind us. Some of the guards even quit because they were afraid to stay in the building at night. Three testimonials have survived from employees who witnessed a terrible story. In the Teacher's House, in the afternoon right under the roof, a wind blew and an incomprehensible loud noise began. And in the chimney they found a black dead bird.
Even a group of Penza researchers spent the night in the building. They managed to shoot an incomprehensible cloud in the corridor on the second floor. They also recorded noises and squeaks similar to the soundtrack in horror films.
The Penza Catholic community in the 2000s tried to return the church. But the court's decision was not in favor of the Catholics.
Today it is a business center with several offices.
Psychologist Yevgeny Kudishin spoke about how mystical phenomena are associated with the psyche and who is at risk of seeing anamaly:
- Sensitivity to such phenomena is characteristic of people with a subtle psyche. Most often, the more traumatized the psyche, the more likely it is that a person will hear a scary sound or see a silhouette. The same sensitivity can be developed independently, through systematic work with their potential.
