Mirgaziyan remembers the day when the hunter brought the yeti to the taiga aul all his life. According to residents of Kurkuli, the “snow woman” was buried at the edge of the village.

Fatal shot

Russian scientists from St. Petersburg and Moscow are reconstructing events that took place more than half a century ago in a Siberian village surrounded by the Mariinsky taiga. Then, in 1958, the residents of the village of Kurkuli did not just see the "bigfoot" - they surrounded him, touched him, incredible and obvious … taiga …

And they parted in silence when the miracle did not happen. And the Yeti, by the local nickname Albasty, was taken to the forest …

“I remember that day,” says 63-year-old pensioner Mirgaziyan Nazmutdinov. - I was the closest, I was fifty centimeters from the yeti …

It is difficult to get to the Tatar village of Kurkuli even now. To the north from Mariinsk one and a half hours on the "groove" to the fork. And six kilometers on foot through the taiga, under low stars in a frosty haze, in the silence-darkness of a winter morning …

- And in Soviet times, the Tatars-aul was generally the most distant and isolated. Only then was it considered a plus. They lived prosperously, everyone worked very hard for this. Tatar traditions and local secrets were honored. Strangers, including the secret of Albasta, the yeti, who met in the taiga, were not allowed, - Mirgaziyan recalls. - My grandmother, in Russian Shura, in Tatar of Shansines Khamzina, told that Albasty in small rivers caught fish with their hands. That the dogs on the hunt did not bark at them - they ran back … My mother Sufiya went to pick berries and once saw Albasty. Uncle Khusain, going into the taiga on business, always left food for Albasta by his stacks, near the fence, and in the village they always said that it was a sin to harm Albasta …

And that summer of 1958, at about four in the afternoon, my grandmother and I were at home. Mom is at work in another village. Father is in the army.

And suddenly my grandmother was called - to the square, to the smithy … She quit scribbling on a typewriter (she was making me a sweatshirt for the winter), and we went.

Women, about ten people, I remember, surrounded the cart. Word spread that Islam, the hunter, had returned from the hunt. And in the village there was a rule: the hunter shared his prey with everyone. And the women came for the bear meat.

But Kora-Islam itself (as he was nicknamed because of his very dark complexion), I remember, was very confused. And the women at the cart too.

- I thought there was a bear, I shot at the bear. But it turned out - it is not clear who! - said the hunter.

It wasn't a bear that lay on the cart. And a creature that looks like a man, but not a man absolutely … Yeti, female …

Broad-boned, stocky, the height of a biaxial cart, the body is covered with hair, the skin on the palms and heels is like the pillows of the paws of a cat. The length of the hair on the body is about two and a half centimeters, the hair on the head, combed back, is five centimeters. The feet are wide, about 44 in size. Age, if by our standards, about 30 years old. Weight is a little over one hundred kilograms. The nose, upper lip, and lower jaw protrude forward. But in general, the face is of the Mongoloid type and almost human …

Seeing that "snowy" woman, the women of the village raised such a cry! And they ordered the hunter to immediately take her back, to bury her. After all, though a wild creature, but almost a man … The hunter took away …

… Of the eyewitnesses to this story, Mirgaziyan was the first to respond, who has lived in Uzbekistan for a long time, but several years ago he came to his grandmother's native village. He was the first to try to find someone from the knowledgeable fellow countrymen in order to jointly find the grave of the "snowy" woman and transmit her coordinates to interested scientists. But in a semi-deserted (by two-thirds) village, residents have long been replaced. And Albasty remained only in old fairy tales …

"Kuzbass", having joined the search, found out how the fate of the hunter developed. The old blacksmith Grigory Gizatullin said that he had not heard about the case itself, but after checking the years, he remembered: the hunter's wife soon suddenly died, leaving the largest family in the aul, seven children, orphans. They were raised by a hunter … And grandfather Gregory also remembered that the winter of 1959 came with the fiercest in history, 50-degree frosts, then the blood of the horses ran from their nostrils and froze …

And the eldest son of the hunter (we found him too) did not hear about the case of the yeti, he was a baby in the 1950s … And the hunter himself died several years ago, never talking about the yeti …

But in the village and its surroundings there is an unspoken prohibition not to go hunting in the direction of the neighboring, long-disappeared village of Tongul. It was in the old days about twenty kilometers from Kurkuli. There, hunters have more than once heard and still hear chilling cries in the taiga, and the cries are not people, not animals, not birds …

“Those who heard them ran as fast as they could,” says paramedic Valentina Selezneva. - They even forgot to start the motorcycle out of inexplicable fear. So they rolled him with his hands all the way …

Frozen

Incredibly, almost at the same time - in 1960 - almost the same hunting drama as with the hunter from Kurkuli happened in the United States.

- The hunter's name was Frank Hansen, - Igor Burtsev, director of the International Center for Hominology, explained to Kuzbass. “And he killed this creature while hunting a bear. Although he told other versions, including the one about deer hunting.

He was a military pilot. The story with him and the Yeti happened on a hunting trip in Minnesota. On that day, the wounded prey, having run into Hansen in ambush, turned to the swamp … Hansen followed the bloody trail alone. The trail took him to the clearing. And at the edge of it, he froze in shock … After all, in front of two hairy creatures tore the insides, drank the blood of "Hansen" prey. And the third creature, ten meters away, was squatting.

It was, according to Hansen, not an animal, and a man - not a man … And this creature, letting out a terrible cry, suddenly jumped at Hansen. He pulled the trigger in horror. The creature fell. The hunter fled.

“I’m sure Hansen really got to the yeti’s clearing. Fired from fear. And after a while he returned and picked up the yeti's corpse, - explains Burtsev.

… To say that Hansen was shocked (just like the Kuzbass hunter Islam) is not enough …

But Islam in 1958 brought the body of a yeti to a public meeting in order to jointly decide and act like a human being. And Hansen in 1960, fearing that if someone found out about the murdered - either a Bigfoot, or a human mutant, or even it was not clear who - he would be commissioned from the army (and he had only five years to retire) … In general, when a fierce frost came, he returned to the clearing, found the body under the snow and unnoticed brought it home. Hid it in the basement in the freezer, flooded with water. And five years later, already retired, he also secretly transported him to the purchased farm, to a new house. And then … I decided to make money on the Yeti … I met the owner of the traveling exhibition. Together with the "traveling" and the Yeti began to travel around the United States … People poured crowds to look. Still would! Under the ad sign "Iceman", a creepy male face and a furry figureshone through the old greenish ice in a melted box … It was a worldwide sensation.

- The object was studied, albeit through the ice, without taking samples for analysis, by two famous zoologists - Sanderson and Evelmans. The first one said then: not a fake. Second: this is the body of a Neanderthal man who survived to the 20th century, says Burtsev.

And in a similar story in the United States, a hunter took the yeti's body home and started making money on it. This is how the yeti, killed by the American Hansen, looked in an ice box, and so, according to the reconstruction (picture), it could look like during his lifetime. After that, society began to talk about Hansen as a murderer and criminal punishment for him. And then Hansen and the Yeti disappeared from the "world stage." And when he showed up alone later, Hansen said that he had a dummy …

- In 2013, in the United States, they again started talking about the fact that the body of a yeti, hidden by Hansen, was found, that it was bought from Hansen's descendants and is being prepared for an exhibition in Austin. But my colleagues have studied it. I, albeit from the pictures, too. This is a modern dummy, Igor Burtsev is sure. - And the real yeti, most likely, was buried long ago by Hansen. So science - neither in the United States nor in Russia - has never seen, never examined the body of a yeti, a person "adjacent" to us. Which, I emphasize, cannot be hunted …

The main thing

Igor Burtsev, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Director of the International Center of Hominology, who has come on expeditions to Kuzbass more than once in search of the Yeti, considers both Gornaya Shoria and the north of Kuzbass a place of high probability of Yeti migrations.

- And the name of the village Tongul in translation generally indicates "snow" people! - says Burtsev.

- But how can a yeti have short hair on the head and Mongoloid features, as eyewitness Mirgaziyan remembers? He also remembers a henna-colored face …

- They can. Several years ago, American geneticist Melba Ketchum gave the world's first conclusion on Yeti DNA. She proved that yeti exist and that they are half human. DNA analysis of 109 biological samples (hair, saliva and even a piece of flesh sent by eyewitnesses from different places) showed: "Bigfoot" is a hybrid of an earthly woman with a creature unknown on Earth. I do not exclude the option of crossing humans with aliens. Or with extinct primates. Ketchum's study yielded three complete Yeti genomes and a number of mitochondrial genomes. In the end, she was able to establish the time when and where it happened. Hybridization took place in Europe and elsewhere around the world over 15,000 years ago. And it was like … a purposeful action. Because 18 mitochondrial genomes (maternal, human part in the yeti's DNA. - Ed.) belong to different ethnic groups.

- That is, an African woman was taken in the foremother of the Yeti … - … several Indian girls and so on … Including the Mongoloid type, like this Siberian …
