A few days ago, a user with the nickname Sgt_Soggybottoms posted on Reddit a story that he saw something unusual on Mount Beacon, New York.
“I work as a broadcasting network engineer and a couple of years ago, between 9 and 10 pm, they called me and said that there was a problem in one of the transmitters, at a distance it did not dare and therefore it is necessary to urgently check it manually.
The main problem was that this transmitter is located at the very top of the local Beacon mountain and it takes an hour to get to this point.
By the time my boss and I got there, it was almost midnight and I felt a little creepy.
The road going from the foot of the mountain to its top was very bad, it was unpaved and with a lot of potholes, our car constantly bounced on them, which added even more negativity. Then we began to notice rays of light coming from above and illuminating our car. Most likely they were other people with flashlights, but we were still scared.
A couple of times we noticed firing points in the thickets, as if there was a fire burning among the trees. My boss assumed these were the locals sitting and having booze parties and we'd better stay away from them. And my boss, as it turned out, had been on this mountain before and, according to him, he never pokes here without a gun, and even more so at night.
And he was afraid not only of the locals, he said that there is something else - "there are things that I cannot explain."

Finally we got to the top and checked the transmitter without any problems, made the necessary debugging and drove back along the same road. One of the sections had a particularly steep descent and we almost stopped when we started to pass it. And suddenly, right in front of our car, three deer jumped out onto the road.
We were so scared of their appearance that we crashed into a rock. It's good that the speed was very low and we only slightly dented the bumper. My boss was driving and after that he stopped completely. There was dead silence, he even muffled the engine. And in this silence, we both clearly heard how something very large rushed from the road to the slope. When I heard the noise, I immediately shone my flashlight there, but it had already disappeared, leaving behind many swaying branches in the trees and bushes.
After that I asked my boss what he thinks was it, another deer or maybe even a bear? He replied. that bears run on four legs, and judging by the sounds, this ran on only two. Besides, a bear would not chase deer, he usually has a different style of getting food.

I understood what my boss was hinting at, but it seemed to me that he was trying to scare me and I began to reason logically. Maybe it was just an ordinary large man running? However, his speed then would have been mind-blowing, he managed to run across part of the road and run to the slope for a few seconds while I took out the flashlight and turned it on.
And why should a man chase deer? Even the last bum would prefer to rummage in garbage cans, and not hunt such large animals at night. This creature also most likely was not a puma or a lynx or a coyote. and my boss has never been seen to be intimidating or empty-handed before. At the same time, the boss himself looked rather scared, all he wanted was to get out of here as soon as possible.
Subsequently, I changed jobs, and then I was on this mountain several times. Curiosity tormented me, but I had never seen anything like it that we met that night. However, I was not on this mountain after sunset, and IT probably appeared at that time.
I am not aware of any known sightings of strange creatures in this area, but I have learned that in recent years there have been several unusual car accidents, the cause of which has not been established. Maybe they happened because of a bad road, or maybe because of something else."
