An unexpected find last year was made by archaeologists in a small field on the banks of the Ob River in Novosibirsk, where potatoes were previously grown. Now it is the prehistoric burial "Tourist-2", where researchers work.
The mysterious artifact is a human figurine made of an unknown organic material. On the “head” of this product, a “hat with feathers” is worn, reminiscent of the headdresses of the Indians. Perhaps this is an image of a halo around the divine being that the figure is supposed to represent.
So far, scientists have more questions than answers. It has not yet been possible to decipher the meaning of the product. Headdresses with feathers have not previously come across archaeologists on artifacts excavated in Siberia. Therefore, the researchers call the figurine from the potato field "absolutely unique and sensational."
Archaeologist Vyacheslav Molodin says that the find is about 5,000 years old. And the head of the expedition, Natalya Basova, reported on other discovered artifacts: a figurine of a bird made of bone, which, most likely, was sewn onto clothes, and four anthropomorphic figurines made of mammoth tusk.

All these items also served as decorations or insignia and were attached to clothing, probably for ritual purposes. Apparently, the burials belong to the Krotov culture, which stood at the origins of the Bronze Age in Western Siberia.
