According to Popular Mechanics (a strictly official American popular science magazine published since 1902 and does not write anything about UFOs), several naval officers who witnessed the famous meeting of Nimitz with UFOs in 2004 say in an interview with the publication that after that events on the ship appeared "unknown persons" and confiscated all the blocks with data.
The story began when in November 2004 a Navy missile cruiser, 160 kilometers off the coast of southern California, detected strange radar signals emanating from an object in the sky. One eyewitness to the incident recalls:
“When they showed up on the radar, I ran to the bridge window and pointed my high-power binoculars in that direction. The objects were too far away and I could not make out the details, but the objects seemed to hover over the sea, after which they left in an unknown direction. When they appeared again at night, I was already able to observe them normally, since the objects emitted a phosphoric glow, and they were a little easier to see than during the day."
Since the appearance of these objects continued for a week and their data on the radar did not match the telemetry of any of the known aircraft, the Navy raised F / A-18 fighters, which were able to detect the strange object. The video with him was made public in 2017, and in the fall of 2019, the video was confirmed by the Pentagon.
However, the video that hit the network turned out to be severely cut and subsequently people who saw all this live on the Top Secret LAN inside the ship told more interesting things in interviews.
It turns out that the F / A-18 chase for the UFO lasted about 10 minutes and the UFO made absolutely unthinkable maneuvers in the air - sharp accelerations, right-angle turns, changes in flight altitude, and so on. The object resembled a mint Tic Tac tablet in shape, and its length was about 12 meters.

The editorial staff of Popular Mechanics, interested in this case, interviewed five veterans of the Navy who witnessed the incident and were at that moment in the conning tower. Their ships were part of 11 USS Nimitz (CVN-68) escort ships that were conducting exercises ahead of their forthcoming deployment in the Arabian Sea. And as it turned out - the oddities seen on the radar were just nothing compared to the adventures of the team that were ahead.
Junior Officer Patrick "PJ" Hughes was working on the deck of the aircraft carrier Nimitz USS at the time of the incident and was completely unaware of the unidentified objects that AUG had been dealing with over the past few days. His task as an aeronautical technician was to ensure the safety of the data of the E-2 Hawkeye recorders.
“We call them 'bricks' because hard drives are very heavy. They contain software to control the aircraft and record everything that the E-2 Hawkeye crew sees and what happens on board,”Hughes said in an interview.
But on November 14, the incredible happened. Hughes removed the hard drives from the plane and carried them to a secret safe, the key of which he had no right to give to almost anyone, even under the threat of being shot. And at that moment he was visited by the whole commander of the ship, whom in ordinary life Hughes was lucky to see only at the parade. And with him were two completely unknown persons who had never been on the aircraft carrier.
“They weren't on the ship before, and I didn't see them arrive, so I don't even know how they got on board,” Hughes says in an interview.
Further, the commander of the ship ordered Hughes to open the safe with hard drives, after which these unknown persons cleaned out all telemetry disks from there and departed in an unknown direction.
But as it turned out, they next visited USS Princeton, a Ticonderoga-class missile cruiser, from which the data records for the AEGIS system were calculated.
These incomprehensible people put all the disks in a big black bag, then got into a big black helicopter and flew away without saying a word to anyone. And the command of the USS Princeton, following their instructions, ordered the technicians to erase everything that was collected on the ship's disks for several days.
