Probably the most interesting work is the work of an archaeologist: they stumble upon the most incredible objects so often that it is simply amazing. Just the other day, a team of researchers, conducting excavations in the ancient city of Jerusalem, discovered a jug filled with decapitated toads in a closed and intact tomb. Presumably, this find is about 4 thousand years old.
At the moment, scientists are at a loss as to the purpose of the headless amphibians. Perhaps they have something to do with the rituals carried out by the inhabitants of Canaan over the dead, but experts do not undertake to judge this for sure. As the leaders of the excavations Shua Kisilevich and Zohar Turzheman-Yafe say, they felt excitement when they pushed aside the stone that is the entrance to the tomb - you never know what can await them inside! As a result, archaeologists stumbled upon the remains of nine headless toads.
Inside that very ancient jug, there were many tiny bones that once belonged to slippery amphibians. Archaeological work, during which the bones were found, were carried out as preparation for the expansion of one of the residential areas of Jerusalem. Scientists say that a long time ago it was customary to bury the deceased along with gifts and valuable offerings, which, in theory, should have come in handy for the deceased souls in the afterlife. That's just why they need decapitated toads - that's another question.
