In one of the images of Mars, an American ufologist discovered a strange spherical object. He suggested that the object is some kind of a cannonball left on the Red Planet since the war of the ancient Martians. As usual in such cases, the self-proclaimed expert suggests that the American aerospace agency NASA is deliberately hiding information about the Martian civilizations that fought among themselves.
The snapshot that caught the attention of the conspiracy theorist was taken by the Curiosity rover, which has been traveling around the planet Kransa since August 2012. According to the author of the video, the ball in the frame is made of metal and is not the only object of this kind on Mars. The conspiracy theorist declared the strange object "one hundred percent proof of the ancient war."
The ufologist noted that the image posted on the Internet was black and white, but for greater clarity, he himself painted the stones around the "cannonball" red, leaving it gray. However, the author of the video is trying to convince viewers that the mysterious object really should have stood out in color against the background of the Martian landscape, and NASA deliberately tried to "disguise" this fact by not providing a color photo.
The psychological illusion that makes you “recognize” something familiar in slightly unusual objects is called “pareidolia”. It is highly probable that in this case the reason for the "sensation" was precisely this phenomenon, and the "cannonball" is just a round stone, the existence of which on the surface of the Red Planet can hardly be considered evidence of an alien visit. However, although there are skeptics among the authors of the comments to the published video, many viewers share the opinion of the ufologist that the discovered object is something mysterious.
