The administration of a new hospital in the British city of Derby was forced to call an exorcist after complaints of a ghost began to come from staff, the Sun tabloid wrote on Friday
Employees said that recently they began to notice a male figure in a dark cloak, which is rapidly moving through the wards and through the walls. Especially often the ghost appears in the premises next to the hospital morgue, a source in the administration told the newspaper.
To reassure the people, the hospital manager sent them an email informing them that she took reports of the ghost seriously. “I don’t want to scare you any more than I should, but I thought it’s better to let everyone know what is happening and what we are doing about it,” Debbie Butler wrote, adding that she asked the hospital priest to organize an exorcism.
Paranormal experts told The Sun that the ghost may have been the spirit of a Roman soldier killed at the site where an old hospital was built in the 1920s. The builders then ignored the protests of the local population and occupied part of the road laid by the Romans, and a new hospital was built on the site of the old one.
This is what the old hospital building looked like.
According to some reports, the expulsion of the ghost from the walls of the hospital should take place in the coming days. A spokeswoman for the local branch of the National Medical Service noted that the authorities are doing everything possible to restore the working atmosphere in the hospital.
