The Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service, established by the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, monitors the concentration of ozone in the atmosphere, including the formation and development of the Antarctic ozone hole each year.

In 2019, the ozone hole over Antarctica was completely atypical throughout the entire time of its development: it opened earlier than the traditional time, it deviated from the center of the mainland and remained relatively small and weak almost all the time, until it was completely closed in early November.

The very closing of the ozone hole also happened almost a month earlier than the average since the 1980s. Overall, according to our data, this was one of the smallest ozone holes in the last 35 years.

The formation of the Antarctic ozone hole is due to the cold and isolated atmospheric conditions over the South Pole and within the polar vortex.

Ozone-depleting substances that people release into the atmosphere, including chlorofluorocarbons, accumulate in the polar vortex, where they remain chemically inactive for some time until the sun is away. However, later on, when the sun rises above the pole, chemically active chlorine and bromine atoms are released in the vortex and quickly destroy ozone molecules, causing the hole to develop.

This year, this process was interrupted by a rather unusual meteorological event: “Sudden stratospheric warming over Antarctica resulted in a less stable and warmer polar vortex than usual, which led to a decrease in ozone depletion,” says a senior researcher at CAMS (The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service) Antje Inness.

This dramatic warming in the stratosphere is much less common in the Antarctic than in the Arctic. When the temperature in the stratosphere over Antarctica increased by more than 40 ° C in early September, it disrupted the formation of polar stratospheric clouds and weakened the winds of the polar vortex, stopping the growth of the ozone hole.

The story of the so-called "ozone hole" begins in the mid-1980s, when a group of British scientists discovered something there. After that, the ozone layer hysteria began in the world, which has been going on for 35 years. Moreover, no one tested this ozone hole either in 1950, or in 1850, or earlier. It is possible that the presence of this formation over Antarctica is generally the norm and it has always been there.

However, okay - since environmentalists are fighting, we will not interfere with them. The main question is that, as can be seen from the animation, this ozone hole, which is traditionally called Antarctic, is not even Antarctic at all and is incomprehensibly located - like a hypothetical electron in orbit, in a smeared state. Sometimes it gets so carried away that it catches the equator with its edges. Meanwhile, it should hang over Antarctica - that's how it was always painted.

The above animation from Wikipedia depicts the migration of the ozone hole from 1957 to 2001, that is, almost 50 years. And at the equator she was not born. Therefore, if the hole began to wind like this, something very unusual happens at the pole and some polar vortices are not in business here - they are secondary, just like the ozone hole itself is secondary.

The second important point is that all these tales about chlorine and bromine that destroy ozone are nothing more than theories. Nobody launched an adept in a balloon who examined the behavior of atoms over Antarctica and how they react to everything there. It's just that a theory was proposed for the formation of the ozone hole - and, based on the laws of chemistry, it seems more or less correct. But nothing more. Therefore, if the theory of closing the ozone hole is based on the theory of its appearance and a host of other theories, the scientific building turns out to be very shaky, capable of crumbling not even from a breath of wind, but from an increase in the level of ultraviolet radiation.

Ozone is such a blue poisonous gas, an allotropic modification of oxygen, where there are three oxygen atoms in a molecule. Ozone is formed if oxygen is irradiated with ultraviolet light or if electricity is passed through it - these experiments can even be carried out in a school laboratory. Therefore, when the atmosphere is irradiated by the Sun, when currents flow there, oxygen turns into this very ozone. Then it is destroyed in one way or another, as the “academics” say - it is destroyed by emissions from chemical enterprises.

Let us suppose. How then, then, can the ozone hole be reduced? There are only two options: either to blow up all factories where chlorofluorocarbons are produced, or to drag another source of ultraviolet radiation to the Earth - so that more ozone is formed. And since China is still standing still, and with it all other countries pollute the atmosphere, the reduction of emissions of chlorofluorocarbons is excluded. Consequently, the Earth has a new source of either strong electricity or additional ultraviolet radiation.

The picture above shows the so-called “purple sunset” that has been observed in recent years around the world. Why does the sky turn purple? Because ozone, when dispersed, is a blue gas. But when there is a lot of this gas in the atmosphere, or when ozone is collected in high concentration under pressure, it becomes indigo light. And this indigo is periodically observed by people.

But what caused the appearance of ozone on Earth in such unexpected quantities? We do not know the exact answer to this question, but we offer two options:

a) The appearance in the solar system of a new source of radiation, which does all this with the atmosphere.

b) For the formation of ozone are responsible for the ashtrays of aliens, which have been flying in recent years like an iron locust. If we are talking about a small "saucer" that moves in the atmosphere at a cosmic speed, then the emissions will be imperceptible. We do not know the technology for the movement of the "plates", but they form a certain amount of ozone precisely, since such huge velocities certainly generate in the atmosphere some kind of electric fields and radiation that lead to the formation of ozone. But what if the pepelats is hundreds of meters or even kilometers long? Yes, he will throw out so much ozone that Chinese garment factories will then need to work for a year to destroy this ozone. And if there are tens and hundreds of pepelats?
