Five archaeologists who have unearthed a mysterious labyrinth die a painful death. The old-timers are sure that they were killed by the labyrinth builders - underground dwarfs. These creatures are notorious. After the war, they kept a Soviet pilot in captivity for 14 years, undergoing trepanning of his skull.
In the Voronezh region, archaeologists during the excavation of the Vlasov kurgan discovered an underground labyrinth with wells, traps and dead ends. Scientists have found that only a dwarf, no more than 80 centimeters tall and weighing no more than 25 kilograms, could make the moves in the maze.
According to "Meshcherskaya side", two theories arose to explain the origin of the labyrinth. Proponents of the first theory argued that the maze was built by children. Supporters of the second - dwarf people from the underworld lived in the labyrinth.
A human skull with traces of trepanation was found in the center of the Vlasov labyrinth. The smooth edges of the triangular wound indicate that after the operation the person lived for a long time.
In addition, throughout the entire area of the labyrinth, numerous sacrifice sites were also identified, where the remains of animals were located, mainly the heads of horses. For lighting, the ancient excavators used torches, as indicated by the numerous blotches of coals along the entire length of the passages.
A group of archaeologists from Voronezh University decided to solve this mystery and excavate another mound next to the labyrinth. The researchers arrived in the area of the proposed excavation in July 2001 and set up a tent camp right next to the mound. The archaeologists failed to hire laborers from the nearby villages. Local residents believe in the existence of underground inhabitants and seriously believe that stirring up the mounds is very dangerous. The invasion of the life of dwarfs, in their opinion, will lead to inevitable death.
Soon after the reconnaissance of the area, mysterious phenomena began to occur in the camp. In the parking lot of archaeologists, the batteries of cars and cell phones were discharged, the electronics refused to work. In a tent near the bedside of the head of the expedition, Nikolai Prokhorov, a horse's head was found.
After these events, the scientists urgently returned to Voronezh. And at night, five of the seven members of the expedition ended up in the toxicology department of the hospital with signs of severe poisoning. The doctors managed to save only two archaeologists. Two more members of the expedition died at home, they simply could not call an ambulance.

The official cause of death is mushroom poisoning. However, the head of the expedition, Nikolai Prokhorov, claims that none of the group ate mushrooms and sees the cause of what happened in the revenge of the underground inhabitants.
A similar story happened in August 1945. Soviet fighter pilot Vasily Yegorov was shot down over the territory of Inner Mongolia two hundred kilometers from the front line. However, the pilot managed to leave the burning fighter and parachute into a small grove.
According to Vasily himself, he lay down in the bushes to rest and fell asleep. Yegorov woke up with a strange sensation - his arms and legs did not obey. Raising his head, he saw that his torso was wrapped in a translucent tape.
The sounds he heard at the same time resembled bird chirping. But they were published by creatures that could be mistaken for small monkeys, if not for clothes and knives in their hands. According to the pilot, these were people, but very small. Later, having met hundreds of little men of the hanyangi tribe, as they called themselves, Vasily was convinced that their height did not exceed 45 centimeters.
The pilot did not remember how many years he spent in the underground labyrinth with dwarf people. Egorov ended up with people in the spring of 1959. One day after a thunderstorm, he was outside, and he was discovered by the Mongol cattlemen. It turned out that in the Soviet Union the pilot was considered dead.
The investigation did not give any results - no one wanted to take Egorov's stories about the dwarfs seriously. But when X-ray of the pilot's skull, a dense formation was found in the back of the head. It turned out that Egorov had undergone craniotomy about 15 years ago.
