The annual South by Southwest (SXSW) festival was held in Austin (USA). At one of the events, a famous hacker and unmanned vehicle designer George Hotz made a presentation. The idea he voiced is not new, but his practical conclusions from it are interesting.

Hotz said that we are living in a computer simulation.

In general, a lot of facts indicate this, especially recently, when scientists have made great strides in quantum physics and astrophysics. Some phenomena can only be explained by the fact that we observe a simulation.

The experiment with two slits is widely known.

In short. Passing photons through one slit, we see (on the screen installed at the back) one strip - the light behaves like particles. Passing photons through two slits, we see not two stripes (as it should be), but an interference pattern - photons behave like a wave.

But, if you install the observation device directly at two slits, you get two stripes again. That is, the photons behave as if … they know that they are being watched?

There are such assumptions on the observed facts of the macrocosm. Some, at first glance, are completely implausible. Let's say why both American space probes lost contact with the Earth, reaching the edge of the solar system? Doesn't this mean that all the Stars and Galaxies are simulations, because we cannot check the opposite. Perhaps the boundary of our simulation is the boundary of the solar system?

And how many more serious facts in astrophysics - the expansion of the universe, black matter, etc.

There are many influential supporters of this theory. You can name at least Elon Musk.

To get out of the Matrix's field of vision, Hotz decided to organize a church and a religion. How this will help in this matter, however, is not clear.

When discussing the hacker's report on SXSW, the only thing he was asked about was whether he would attract supporters of uniting the human mind and artificial intelligence to his church?

How matters stand with the creation of a new religion is not yet clear. But the report clearly added to Hottsu's fame and popularity.
