Physicists from Israel and Russia have demonstrated that humanity does not live in a matrix. Research by Zohar Ringel and Dmitry Kovrizhin, conducted at the Center for Theoretical Physics. R. Peierls, University of Oxford, published in Science Advances.
Experts tried to simulate a quantum system (a two-dimensional gas with a fractional quantum Hall effect) using classical methods (ultimately based on the Feynman integral that operates on the basis of classical mechanics).
As the number of particles increased in the simulation, the scientists found that the computational resources required to perform the simulation did not grow linearly, but exponentially. In this case, to store information about several hundred electrons, a memory built from a larger number of atoms than is contained in the observable universe would be required.
“It also shows that Hall conductance is indeed a quantum effect for which there is no local classical analogue,” said co-author Zohar Ringel of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
The study assumes the impossibility of creating the illusion of reality, which means, in particular, the erroneous representation of the head of SpaceX Elon Musk about the stay of humanity in the matrix.
