Representatives of the scientific world were able to read the inscription in the Etruscan language, which the ancient civilization dedicated to the deity of fertility Uni. The manuscript was inscribed on the stone of one of the temples of the Etruscan tribe.
The opinion of scientists was based on the fact that the cult of the above goddess in Poggio Colla was akin to the worship of Zeus among the Greeks.
As it later became known, the deciphered scripture was a sacred text. Moreover, this passage was the most meaningful and large in volume text, engraved in stone by an ancient civilization. The most frequent finds of this tribe were texts written about the otherworldly beliefs of the Etruscans.
The Etruscans were inhabited in the 1st millennium BC. e. the northwestern part of the Apennine Peninsula between the Arno and Tiber rivers. These fiery ones gave a turn to the development of ancient Roman culture.
Earlier in the Kremlin, archaeologists discovered a stone slab with an ancient illegible inscription from the 12th century. The discovered stone form contains about one and a half dozen scrawled symbols. This form was used when casting metal weights.
