In North America, there is an amazing anomaly, or even a real mystery, which, nevertheless, is known to few even among the locals. To an ordinary observer, hundreds or even thousands of strangely curved trees scattered throughout the continent seem like random mistakes of nature, deformed due to disease. However, a more thorough analysis and numerous comparisons make it possible to determine that there is one undoubted pattern here.

The trunks of the mysterious trees have a rectangular bend, and each such break is strictly parallel to the ground. Because of this, many experts put forward the assumption that these plants were specially bent by someone a long time ago for a specific purpose. According to other theorists, we are faced with the result of the activity of a higher intelligence (perhaps even an alien one), a mystical anomaly, or simply an inexplicable and localized natural phenomenon.

Tilted, split and otherwise deformed trees are everywhere, but the so-called "route trees" still growing in North America are a real phenomenon. At a distance of about 1.2-1.5 meters above the ground, the tree trunk bends at an angle of 90 degrees, then straightens back, forming a kind of "knee". Scientists report that this form can be achieved naturally, but not in our case.

The fact is that all "route trees" do not have any scars at the places of bends, however, if the plants acquired "knees" by themselves, scars would certainly be present. From this, the people of official science conclude that trees were bent many centuries ago by man. The most popular theory is that Indians were involved in this in the pre-Colombian era, who thus indicated the direction of forest paths. Hence the unusual name of such trees, which supposedly guided people along certain routes.

It is possible that hunters and gatherers over the generations have purposefully warped young trees, turning them into reliable pointers by which Native American tribes navigate nature. Such plants were clearly visible from afar, even against the backdrop of a snowy landscape. It probably took many years to create one pointer, but the result was durable. Even today, some deer and elk hunters navigate the wilderness by "trail trees" using ancient Indian trails. It is a pity that every year there are less and less outlandish trees.

In the 1930s and 1940s, American geologist and writer Raymond Jansen traveled to 13 states to study route trees. The specialist concluded that the bends of their trunks are not a natural phenomenon, so we are talking about cultural artifacts. However, even in the academic community of the United States there are many researchers who deny the involvement of the Indians in the curvature of plants. At the same time, the orthodox scientists are in no hurry to voice any hypotheses of their own.

The puzzle of curved trees from different perspectives

As mentioned above, some alternative researchers say that aliens, anomalous zones, some supernatural phenomena, and so on are to blame. Finally, do not forget that many inhabitants of the Earth consider trees to be intelligent creatures with will and consciousness. If this is really so, then it is possible that these organisms themselves wished to take such a strange shape, and for us it will forever remain a mystery why.

Alas, "route trees" are periodically cut down and cut down, and most often this is done to clear territories for new cities, roads and structures. Of course, no one creates new curved trees these days. In some settlements, these plants receive the status of protected, and, despite the fact that this approach so far saves them from the axes of woodcutters, diseases and time slowly but steadily destroy this miracle: natural or man-made, everyone decides for himself …
