Two researchers assure that the blood on the Turin shroud could not leave the lying body (Jesus Christ) wrapped in it.

The Shroud of Turin is a famous Christian relic - a large piece of linen fabric with the imprint of the body of Jesus Christ, which was wrapped in this fabric after it was removed from the cross.

The imprint clearly shows the outlines of a male human body, as well as blood stains, which are located in those places in which Christ was inflicted with wounds from a crown of thorns, spears and nails.

According to the researchers, an analysis of the location of the blood stains on the Turin Shroud showed that there is absolutely no way that these blood stains could remain from the body lying horizontally. The spots look as if the body was in a standing (upright) position. That is, the question of the authenticity of the relic comes up again.

The blood stains on the shroud were investigated by forensic anthropologist Matteo Borrini of Liverpool John Moore University in the UK and organic chemist Luigi Garlacelli of the Italian Committee to Investigate Pseudoscientific Allegations.

At one time, radiocarbon analysis showed that the Turin Shroud dates from 1260-1390 AD, that is, the relic has clearly not come since the death of Christ. However, the location of the body print on it was so historically and anatomically accurate that one can easily doubt the accuracy of the dating. Even the marks of the whip blows were examined on the prints.

But two researchers not only examined the spots on the shroud, but also conducted an investigative experiment. They wrapped the mannequin in linen cloth, hit it with objects with red liquid and watched the "blood" flow out at different positions of the body.

It was found that, judging by the spots on the shroud, the blood on the back of the palms and on the forearms flowed at different angles, but if the body were lying horizontally, the drainage angle would be the same.

In addition, the wound from a spear striking the ribs should have formed a round puddle when the body was lying down. But on the shroud, uneven streaks are visible, which again indicates an upright position.

As a result, the researchers concluded that most likely the shroud is a very high-quality "illustration" created in the Middle Ages.

However, many scientists still have not determined exactly how a detailed image of the human body was formed on the fabric of the shroud. Moreover, it is also negative.
