The book of the Mayan tribe has great historical significance - "The Holy Book". It tells about everything: from the origin of the world to the creators of mankind. According to the creation myth, man was first created, after which the earth, clouds and mountains appeared from water. They were created by four celestials, whose attempts all the time turned out to be unsuccessful.
It is characteristic that the book repeatedly explains that the creation of the world failed initially, which led to the disappointment of the gods and a new discovery. It is indicated that this was precisely the goal that was pursued - the world was not created according to the ideal, errors arose in the process. The first attempts included the creation of a man from the red earth - clay. But she was too soft, unable to resist, and was absorbed by the water.
Then the council of celestials was called again. They took trees as a basis: the core of a strong oak for a man, and a flexible willow for a woman. But these creatures also disappointed the gods, because they were just dolls without a heart and mind. The next attempt was again unsuccessful - sentient beings were too weak, and were destroyed during natural disasters.
The last attempt was successful, and four perfections were created in the image and likeness of heavenly beings. And their flesh was made of corn - white and yellow. This is how intelligent humanity was born, capable of resisting nature and reproducing.
