A resident of Krasnoufimsk put forward an original version of the death of Ural tourists in the vicinity of Mount Kholatchakhl.

More than 60 years have passed since the death of Igor Dyatlov's group in the north of the Urals. But the tragedy took place under such mysterious circumstances that not one of the dozens of hypotheses that have appeared during this time, nor the latest conclusions of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, suit people. Many, independently studying the criminal case, hundreds of documents and memoirs related to that unfortunate campaign, find their own explanations for what happened.

Where to look for a clue?

The original version of the events at the Dyatlov pass was presented by Rais Akhtyamov from Krasnoufimsk. He outlined his interpretation of the causes of the tragedy in a letter that he sent to the editor.

According to the researcher, the clue must be sought in the sports club of the Ural Polytechnic Institute, where half of the group studied.

Knowing the route thoroughly, these two, along the finished track and without unnecessary cargo, caught up with the tourists on Mount Holatchakhl, saw the tent set up and, according to Akhtyamov, experienced an attack of burning jealousy.

According to the reader, the Dyatlovites cut the tent from the inside and jumped out in panic. In the confusion, they tried to repel the "raiders". At the same time, in the dark they often fell on their own. In the end, the tourists ran down to the forest, hoping to light a fire and wait for dawn.

"Execution" article

Meanwhile, two attackers found the frozen tourists, realized that they were facing a "firing squad" and decided not to leave anyone alive. “They dealt death blows to everyone who showed any signs of life. On the way back to the tent, the already dead Slobodin's skull was broken, they really didn’t like it,”our reader notes.

And then it was like this. Arriving in Ivdel, the criminals from the station on a pay phone anonymously called the police with a message about the corpses they had seen. “At that time the calls were not recorded and it was impossible to identify the phone number. They could not allow fellow students to rot in the mountains. Nobody really would be looking for them."

It was on the basis of this call, the researcher believes, the Ivdel prosecutor, junior counselor of justice Vasily Tempalov, on February 6, 1959, opened a criminal case. He also instructed the head of the Vizhaisky village police station, Captain Chudinov, to conduct the first interrogation of the witness on the same day, although the first bodies were found only at the end of February.

Remained virgins

Note that the composition of the group in the process of preparing for the campaign did change. In the project, which Igor Dyatlov presented to the route commission, 13 people were listed. Four of them (Yu. Vishnevsky, N. Popov, V. Bienko, Yu. Verkhoturov) ultimately did not go on the campaign.

According to Akhtyamov, Yuri Yudin, who left the route due to illness, could have told a lot about the “pre-hike intrigues in the UPI sports club,” but did not want to do it. He died in April 2013.

He also explains that jealousy is an understandable feeling (read Pushkin and Shakespeare) that has existed at all times. “Nowadays, a jealous man cuts off his beloved's hands, another strangled a flight attendant in the bathroom. A man shot a woman with buckshot from a double-barreled gun point-blank out of jealousy. Half of the head was missing. This explains the terrible injuries received by members of the Dyatlov group.

Let us also recall that today there are about 75 versions of the reasons for the death of the group: natural, criminal, conspiracy theories and completely fantastic. The most popular ones are a quarrel, a mistake by group members, an avalanche, methyl alcohol, infrasound, ball lightning, an attack by escaped prisoners or local residents, UFOs, tests of secret weapons, a bear, Bigfoot, special services.
