In the early morning of December 18, 2017, the residents of Bakersfield were awakened by a mysterious rumble of incredible power that resembled something terrible.
Holly Olsen, a local Bakersfield resident, woke up on the morning of December 18 at about 5 am due to a sharp and very loud sound. The woman said that it did not look like an explosion or fireworks.
The sound was very low frequency, and Holly noted that she had never heard anything like it in her life.
Calls and messages from other Bakersfield residents were poured into local government and police, as well as local media outlets.
Other eyewitnesses said they heard similar sounds around 5:09 am.
Local authorities approached the military stationed near the city with the question of whether their sensors and radars detected something unusual.
The battalion commander checked all the indicators and said that they had not noticed anything strange.
