This fascinating story, told by Mikhail Zybunovsky, a resident of the Russian city of Orel, began a long time ago, in 1947. Then Misha was only seven years old.
… Late in the evening, he and his five-year-old sister were sitting in their yard on a heap of soft sawdust and discussing horror stories about brownies and sorcerers, heard from adults and, first of all, from their grandmother. The more creepy details the children recalled, the more terrifying they became. The witch, who had flown in on a broomstick and was now hiding behind the chimney, was already dreamed of … And from the chicken coop came the sighs and puffs of the brownie grandfather …
Finally, fear overcame, and the children rushed into the hut with a bullet. They were soon going to bed. Misha and his sister had one bed in which they slept with a jack.
First meeting
… At night the boy woke up because someone rather sensitively pushed him in the side. Opening his eyes, Misha saw, as it seemed to him, a soldier - huge in height and dressed in everything green. A cap covered the "soldier's" head, and a soft orange glow emanated from it.
Choking with horror, Misha jumped out of bed and rushed to his mother's bed. He ducked under the covers and closed his eyes. Mom woke up and, seeing the "soldier", was stunned.

He said nothing, continuing to stand over the children's bed. With a loud gasp, my mother rushed there, grabbed the sleeping daughter in her arms and ran her to her. The girl was hidden under a patchwork quilt, and Misha dived under another blanket lying next to him. He took cover with his head, however, despite a strong fright, he left a small crack to spy on.
Having come to her senses a little, my mother again timidly asked the stranger:
- Who are you? How did you get in here?
The intruder sighed heavily, and then suddenly disappeared into thin air. And at the same moment flashes of fire flashed outside the window - at first in the distance, then quickly approached, and now in the yard, literally under the window, a flame raged. Misha and his mother cried together, deciding that they would now burn out … However, the “fire” died down as quickly as it began.
The next morning there was not the slightest trace of a conflagration in the courtyard. The yard was empty and clean.
Second meeting
The next meeting with the same "soldier" took place when Misha was fourteen years old. In early autumn, he was staying in the village of Platonovo in the Oryol region, and one evening he decided to secretly visit the collective farm garden for already ripe apples.
Not far from the garden, on a high and rocky river bank, stood an abandoned church. Carried away by the business, Misha did not immediately notice how a large cigar-shaped object with many bright lights on the body was moving across the sky from the church ruins towards the garden.
Seeing this, the teenager gasped and hid behind the bushes in fear. He was shaking, cold sweat flowing from his forehead … For a second Misha closed his eyes, wiping his face, and when he opened his eyes, the already familiar "green soldier" towered over him, who had not changed at all over the past seven years …
Misha screamed desperately - and his "familiar stranger" disappeared, and the cigar-shaped celestial object slowly flew away …
Third meeting
There was another meeting of Mikhail with a mysterious creature, it happened a quarter of a century ago, when a man came to visit his friend in the village of Shablykino. More precisely, I missed a bit … A passing car drove Mikhail along the highway to the place where a country road branched off from him leading to Shablykin. It took at least an hour to get to the village.
Evening fell, stars appeared in the sky. Suddenly, on the horizon, a man saw a spherical luminous layer. Childhood fear, seemingly forgotten long ago, again covered him with a cold wave. Mikhail looked around in panic: this time there was nowhere to hide. All around there are fields with stubble sticking out, and only in the distance can you see stacks of straw …
The luminous formation, rapidly approaching, took shape in a huge ball and hovered over Mikhail. On board the UFO there were round windows, from which someone's flat faces looked at the man. And then, next to Mikhail, his "personal monster", a giant in a green robe and a cap, shimmering orange, rose as if it had emerged from the ground …
For some time the man and the stranger froze and studied each other. And surprisingly, the fear that tormented Mikhail suddenly receded. The man calmly sat down on a boulder lying on the side of the road, and began to examine the object hovering above him. Then he turned his gaze to his "counterpart" and finally saw him properly.
It turned out that earlier Mikhail was mistaken, mistaking the clothes of this creature for the uniform of a soldier. The newcomer was dressed in a green overalls, vaguely similar to a chemical protection suit. The overalls were sparsely pierced with phosphoric threads, which shimmered with a deathly green light. The cap, as it turned out, did not cover the face and resembled an oval hood tightly pulled over the head.
The face, fleshy, bluish, looked definitely unearthly: a flattened nose, under it a tiny mouth, or rather, a narrow slit devoid of lips. The alien's arms were disproportionately long by human standards. In them, he squeezed a certain object aimed at Mikhail …
When the alien, with his characteristic lightning speed, disappeared and his ship disappeared from sight in a matter of seconds, the man woke up from his strange numbness and, again feeling fear and even horror, rushed towards the village …

Since then, Mikhail Zybunovsky has not seen his "space friend", which he was very happy about, rightly believing that three meetings with him are quite enough. But the following remained a mystery for the man: why did the alien appear to him and why did he choose Mikhail for such strange contacts? Not a single ufologist, to whom the resident of Oryol turned, could explain this paradox to him …
