We are all lucky (this word can be pronounced with any intonation, depending on the attitude) to live in the era of the information revolution. In just a couple of decades, the style of behavior of people, the speed of obtaining information, communication links have changed rapidly.
In recent years, the term “digitalization” has come into use. What it is?
The term can be viewed in narrow and broad senses. In the first case (narrow sense), digitalization is understood as the transformation of information thanks to computer technology, as a result of which it is possible, for example, to reduce production costs. In general, it is convenient.
In the second case (broad sense), digitalization is considered as a social phenomenon, since it covers the entire social life and affects not only changes in the rhythm and lifestyle, but also on consciousness, turning a person into a kind of symbiosis with a computer. That is, a person is so imbued with the convenience of digital technologies that he can no longer live without them. And it's not just addiction, the problem goes deeper. The very essence of a person is changing, which is gradually transformed into a homo digitalence (so to speak).
There is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, digitalization really makes the life of society in general and of an individual in particular more convenient, simpler and more economical. Look at the kids - they are not yet 4 years old, but they are already drawn to gadgets, get them and enjoy playing computer games, or watching cartoons, or some kind of educational programs, and all this is on the screen. Parents at this time can go about their business, transferring the education of their children to the computer.
On the other hand, such an earlier acquaintance of children with “digital” actively forms digital consciousness in them. The gadget with all its contents enters their life literally with mother's milk and becomes a natural habitat.

That is, the new generation will be even deeper into digitalization than the current one. Undoubtedly, this will lead to great changes in society. The sprouts of the future of a totally digital society are already there.
The main danger from digitalization of everything and everyone is obvious to me. What I mean is that people who are accustomed to its comforts change their perception of reality. The brain ceases to strain to the extent that it is necessary, since all information enters it not as a result of a logical search, but immediately in a finished form. People stop thinking for themselves.
As a university teacher, I clearly see the consequences of the information revolution using the example of students. I will not say that young people have become dumber, but they cease to see the meaning in independent mental work.
Digitalization makes our life convenient, but this means that the clearing has already been cleared, there is no need to uproot stumps, remove weeds, all this has been done before us, and mental laziness sets in. If information cannot be obtained with a couple of clicks, many simply give up looking for it. It is difficult and too lazy for them to move their brains on their own.
Another obvious consequence of digitalization is the manipulation of consciousness, life according to a scenario not built by us. They introduced digital passes, and the lives of millions of people went according to the imposed scenario. People even go out into the street not spontaneously, of their own accord, but following the instructions of the pass. He really follows your behavior. Digitization opens up tremendous prospects for tracking your every sneeze. What did you eat, where did you go, what did you read, what did you talk about, etc. now it's not your own business. Everything is written in numbers.
Do I like this perspective? Not. But I understand that digitalization is inevitable. I hope that people will learn to use it not to harm themselves.
