Horror over America …
The quiet town of Spokane Valley, Washington state, was struck by panic the other day. Horror, as in the novels of Stephen King, descended on the city out of nowhere: closer to night, either from the air or from the ground, frightening, strange sounds rushed, someone's heart-rending roar, like a giant monster emerging from the depths … The panic of the inhabitants is difficult to describe words. The mournful roar continued right up to the morning, after which it died down. All this time, bedlam was going on in the city …
Of course, no one slept and could not sleep with such sounds. One by one, people called the police, the rescue service, in total, over 40 thousand calls were received, the operators tried to calm people down, although they themselves did not understand what was happening. Terrible hacking sounds echoed throughout the city, from the center to the outskirts.
They looked for an explanation at first in snowblowers, but when they were completely turned off, the sounds did not stop at all. The meteorologists tried to come up with an explanation on the go, speaking with urgent broadcasts on radio and TV, talking either about "stale air", then about "climate change", then about "mixing layers", but even without the involvement of experts it was clear that they were delirium and just wishful thinking.
In the morning they even got used to the roar a little. Jokers appeared who began to say that their source lies either in the upset Clinton family, mourning the election outcome, or in the problems of the mayor of the city, who had an unsuccessful dinner and now cannot get rid of the consequences … but is trying very hard.
And then the roar stopped. What can I say - there are still no clear explanations for this phenomenon, listening to the recordings by experts has not added anything to what is already known. Who was roaring and what he wanted - it is not clear …
