In the capital of Jordan, a city called Amman, is the Temple of Hercules. It is believed that the most important value of the temple is the hand, well, in principle, it seemed to me the same, since there are essentially ruins of the temple itself.
But now, in more detail about the hand. As far as we know, the hand was once full, that is, with an elbow, and most likely it should have been a whole statue of Hercules.
This is what the legends say, and some experts believe that the hand broke off and there must be a continuation somewhere, though where, one can only guess.
The hand itself, as you can see in the pictures, is quite large, the size of almost half a person of average height. The hand is made of marble and of course the workmanship is worth noting.
Of course, marble is not granite, but taking into account the age of about 2,000 years, everything is done with high quality. I would even say that for that time, according to the official history, this would have been impossible. Since now marble is processed on special grinding devices and other technologies.

In general, many are sure that this is only a small part of the whole statue. It is assumed that the statue of Hercules was supposed to be completely made of marble and reach 13-14 meters, and possibly more.
It is difficult to somehow prove that there was a huge statue, but on the other hand, both vandals and local residents could have taken the marble for themselves. Sometimes, after all, local residents take away ordinary megaliths in some ancient structures.
The hand itself is quite carefully processed and everything is done, from nails to even the smallest folds. Everything was created amazingly, but of course, there are many ancient objects in the world that amaze with their processing much more than this hand.
As well as the most important thing for which such a hand was created, one can only guess, but it certainly does not look like rough processing. But if one ever found a statue in full size, namely, the same 13 meters, then there would be other questions.
From a distance, by the way, the hand does not fit into the overall picture, as if something is really missing.
Obviously, it is impossible to make a marble statue with small elements using primitive tools. Although it is not a fact that even such a hand can be created with primitive tools, still marble is not the easiest to work with.
But as of today, we have no information on a possible statue. And this hand is already a separate monument, so one can only guess if the statue once existed.
