In the last two decades, the South Ural has presented many archaeological sensations, including the "Mustache Barrows", and the dolmens of Vera Island, and the Elk geoglyph.

All the artifacts found are unique, and to some extent became the basis for a revision of dogmatic views on the ancient history of the Southern Urals, which completely ruled out even the very existence of something like that. And now another find that clearly does not fit into the classic model and threatens to turn into a new sensation! On the territory of the Chelyabinsk region, search engines discovered stone structures resembling the pagan sanctuaries of the ancient northerners - seids!

Somewhere on the Kola Peninsula, you will not surprise anyone with such stone structures. There, scientists have long come to the conclusion that such structures were erected by representatives of the Sami people in the second millennium BC. They served as a kind of temples where people sacrificed animals.

However, members of the "Mysterious Ural" movement found similar formations in the South Urals, not far from Zlatoust, in the area of Aleksandrovskaya Sopka. They had been seen before, but many scientists believed that the megaliths were of natural origin and were formed as a result of the descent of a glacier. Chelyabinsk seekers have a completely different opinion.

- If we assume that thousands of years ago the mountains were higher, wider and generally larger, then the fall of such a massive plate would not have remained for it without any consequences, most likely - the massif would have split, - says member of the Mysterious Ural movement Andrey Lyubushkin. - In addition, the amazing symmetry of the location of the disproportionate slab is surprising, if by chance it were moved a little to the right or to the left, it would hardly have resisted, but in the form that the object has survived to this day, it is almost an ideal location that is also an indirect sign of the artificial origin of the object.

Now the South Ural researchers are facing a very important task - to conduct a detailed analysis of the South Ural seids and compare them with the megaliths in Karelia and in other northern regions of Eurasia. All of them are united by a number of factors, many of which are on the verge of science, mysticism and fantasy. For example, some seids have a psychoemotional effect on people, others, according to ethnographers, healed diseases, and still others sang. The wind passed under a large boulder, and it seemed as if someone was singing in a high and beautiful polyphony.

“Depending on the strength of the wind and the inclination of an unstable stone, the tonality of sounds also changes - this finding actually confirms the possible use of seids as resonators of acoustic vibrations - a necessary“option”for any significant religious object,” said Andrey Lyubushkin. - It is difficult to imagine what was going on in the heads of the Sami when the stone began to "sing", how can you not believe in the power of the shaman and the fact that their stone "really works".

According to the searchers, their group will continue to collect information, because if it is confirmed that the strange stones "on a stand" are seids, similar to the northern ones, then such a fact will turn the idea of scientists about the life of the peoples who inhabited the South Urals thousands of years ago. Turning to the topic of seids, it should be noted that this name, accepted in Russian literature, is not entirely correct. Among the Sami, seids were most often called sacred places of natural origin - rocks, lakes, mountains. Therefore, for example, it would be incorrect to correlate with the cult of stone additions, mentioning the cult of seids, but despite this discrepancy, in view of the established tradition and in order to avoid confusion, the term seid will be understood here as stone additions.

Stone seids, today, are the least studied religious and historical monuments in the north of the European part of the continent. In this connection, the scientific community has not yet come to a definite consensus on the dating of the origin of the seids, but foreign researchers tend to attribute their appearance to the Bronze Age, about the middle of the 2nd millennium BC. For the first time in Swedish archeology, seids are mentioned as altars in the work of Gunnar Westin "History of the Upper Norrland", his work was published in 1962, despite the fact that then no finds were made near the seids, but nevertheless these structures were attributed by the researcher to the period of the Bronze Age, since they were located near the burial grounds of this era.

In 1968, Evert Bodow, in his work "Ancient Settlements on the Coast of Ongermanland," calls the seids "horizontally placed altars." The seids studied by him were also located near the stone mounds of the Bronze Age. However, Bodow is more cautious in his conclusions about the dating and attributes them "to the time from the early Bronze Age to the Iron Age." In Russia, the seids are dated from the Neolithic to the beginning of the new era.

On the territory of the Russian North, the most studied complexes of seids are on the Vottovaara, Kivakka mountains and the Kuzov islands. Due to the remoteness and inaccessibility of many of them, the complexes of seids on the Kola Peninsula remain poorly studied. Thus, we can conclude that at the moment historians cannot give an exact answer either to the question of who built the seids, or when the megalith was built. The question of the ethnicity of the seids also remains open, while references to the seids are in the folklore of all the peoples of northern Europe - the Sami, Finns, Karel, and Swedes.

In the Russian part of the distribution area of seids, only insignificant folklore references to the cult of some of them have survived. One can only conclude that the seids were significant for a rather narrow ethnic group with common religious and cult rules. In the worldview of the ancient Sami, seids were the abode of spirits, which endowed the stones with all kinds of supernatural powers. According to the formulation of the famous researcher of Sami shamanism Nikolai Volkov: “… seids as a material expression of the ancient beliefs of the Sami were distributed equally among the Sami of Russia and foreign ones. Seid was usually the object of veneration of the entire village and, apparently, was associated with the veneration of the ancestors-ancestors.

There is reason to believe that the spread of seids depended on the spread of hunting and fishing grounds. There are mentions that with the emergence of reindeer husbandry, the beneficial influence of the seids was also extended to the herds of tamed reindeer. There is information about ceremonies, and it is from them that we can conclude that seids were built in "pre-mythological" times.

In confirmation of this bold theory, one can accept not only the lack of accurate information on the dating of stone giants in official science, but also the essence of cult rites, as in the ancient legends about seids, episodes are mentioned about the need to present human sacrifices to seyd, however, the rite of human sacrifice is absolutely not typical for Sami, and later was completely replaced by the rite of animal sacrifice. Such a free approach to the cult rite suggests that the Seid cult did not belong to the Sami initially, but was an adapted religious and cult rite adopted from other ethnographic groups.

If you look at the magic of the seids from the standpoint of modern knowledge about nature and man, first of all, it is impossible not to pay attention to some anomalous phenomena associated with the seids. These include subjective feelings of some mental impact, both positive and negative, strange problems arising with photo and video equipment. Basically, researchers encounter such "tricks" on the so-called. "Plateau of seids", located on the Vottovaara mountain.

It is likely that the anomalous activity is associated with the fact that the complexes were located in the so-called "places of power", places where unusual properties of the Earth associated with its geological structure were manifested.

Taking into account the peculiarities of the geology of the Kola Peninsula, it is possible, for example, to explain the healing properties of some seids (about which there are rumors) by the release of the weakly radioactive natural gas radon from the bowels of the earth, which has a beneficial effect on the body. Perhaps the cause of the abnormal effect on the psyche is associated with the exposure of humans in polar conditions to rare earth and radioactive ores. It is not clear how the "builders" knew the exact coordinates of the construction of the seid, in order to compare it with the "place of power". However, in addition to technology and the human psyche, there are interesting facts indicating the impact of seids on the surrounding nature.

For example, on the slope of a small hill in the center of the Kola Peninsula, there are several strange seids around which reindeer lichen does not grow. In the tundra, you can find such bald patches, in which water sometimes stagnates and for this reason the moss does not grow, leaving a rocky or soil bottom, but in this case the reason for this is seid. In another case, a huge seid in the form of a cubic stone placed on an edge, unstably balancing leaning on a small boulder, has some effect on the grass growing at its slope about a meter from the megalith itself - the grass grows at an angle, copying the slope of the seid, as if it were growing along some hypothetical "lines of force" of the boulder.

Dowsing studies carried out by S. N. Zelentsov, Candidate of Medical Sciences, at seids located in the Seydozero region in the Lovozero tundra made it possible to reveal the presence of so-called GAZ "geoactive zones" in the studied areas. Biolocation revealed zones with a diameter of 2.5-3m around the seida, in which the bioframes deviate. Supporters of "optional" methods of cognition hastened to declare said a generator of powerful energy fields. But the experience with the bioframe only testifies to the fact that the iconic stone building is located at the intersection of underground water streams. In this case, dowsing studies allow you to indicate the difference between "something" from the background, but the difference between "what" is difficult to say. Whether the stone itself is a magnetic anomaly or is simply placed over it remains unclear. But the very fact of the connection between various kinds of anomalies at the places of cult stone structures suggests much greater knowledge of the ancients, including the magnetic properties of the Earth, than we used to think, because in order to place the seid in the right place, it was necessary to accurately determine a specific point and it is not known how the ancestors achieved this.

Most likely, the explanation of the phenomenon of seids lies in the consolidation of several directions at once: the impact of special geological factors, the influence of shape and location on the human psyche and nature. It is quite possible that the influence of geological factors was combined with some kind of cosmic rhythms, for example: the phases of the moon, equinoxes, multi-day polar dawns, and was specially enhanced by seids, as some kind of prehistoric "technical devices". As you know, some Western European megaliths menhirs and cromlechs at the rising of the first rays of the sun in a certain way "sound" in the ultrasonic range, it is possible that the polar seids were built taking into account similar possibilities.

It is quite possible that seids were used in about the same way as radioactive elements are used in modern medicine, X-rays, ultraviolet - in essence destructive, but healing under certain conditions.

Perhaps the knowledge of these "certain conditions" is the basis for understanding the seids, which was subsequently lost. And the cult that has come down to our days is nothing more than attempts to revive the cult of the seids. Judge for yourself in the legends the main properties of the seids are given, their features, for example, it is forbidden to approach some seids - an atavism of knowledge about the cyclical nature of the "work" of seids. For others, sacrifices must be made for good luck in hunting and health - the remnants of knowledge about the strengthening and health-improving effect of complexes on the body and psyche before hunting. No noise should be made near seids - considering that unstable seids could also be resonators of acoustic vibrations, infra- and ultrasound, like other megaliths, this prohibition is quite understandable: extraneous noise could disturb these vibrations with undesirable consequences for the visitor.
