Frightened residents of the two cities of Chipolleti and Neuquen, located on the territory of Argentine Patagonia, were woken up on the night of June 9, 2017 by loud, inexplicable sounds that can be heard in the video below.
The strange trumpets sounded like elephants, but the trumpets, found mostly in Africa and India, are not easy to find in Argentina. So far, no one has dared to suggest a reasonable explanation for this incident.
Local residents reported on social media that “horrible night screams or screams” could be heard around 2:00 am. Some Twitter users have suggested that these sounds are from a garbage truck plying between different areas of Chipolleti. Someone is sure that this is the screeching of brakes or the sound of engines from an alien ship, which was even seen that night.
However, the failure of these theories lies in the fact that residents of the provincial capital of Neuquen and several nearby cities also reported a similar phenomenon.
Last July, residents of the area were frightened by explosions that were heard on the outskirts of General Roca, near Cipolletti. The management of a local mining concern claims that these sounds "had nothing to do with the developments in their quarry." Thus, the origin of the explosions remained an insoluble mystery.
A few days later, an astronomer from the Neuquen Observatory suggested that the explosions were caused by a falling meteorite about 12 meters in diameter. However, this hypothesis did not satisfy those who were concerned about this noise.
