Analyzing the scattered information about this God, it is possible, nevertheless, to carry out a completely reliable reconstruction. It is enough only to understand that our ancestors were not primitive savages who bowed to wooden idols, but transmitted the primordial knowledge about the structure of the world with the help of accessible images. Semargl Svarozhich (that is, the son of Svarog) was originally revered by the Slavs along with Perun and Veles. It is not uncommon in medieval chronicles (for example, in the "Slavic Chronicles" of Helmold) that the idol of Semargl is always placed on the right hand of the idol of Perun. In connection with this fact and taking into account the many combat folklore scenes in which Semargl participates, it is logical to assume that this god was also considered the patron saint of battles and warriors.
This is the Fire God who keeps seeds and crops and can turn into a sacred winged dog. Semargla is revered in those days when rituals and signs associated with fire and bonfires are mentioned in the folk calendar. On April 14, Semargl melts the last snows.
The son of the heavenly Blacksmith Svarog, who gave people the knowledge of metallurgy, and threw the world's first hammer, pincers and anvil to Earth from Svarga, where his home is. How did he create Semargl? Just like many other Gods, Khors, Dazhdbog, Stribog, and many others. Each time Svarog hit the red-hot iron with a hammer, new entities were born from the sheaf of sparks flying out from under the hammer.
But if Khors and Dazhdbog had flesh in addition to the spirit, then Semargl is an image in a flash of fire, similar to a chimera: - Winged half-dragon half-dog.
For some reason, all the researchers decided that he both emerged from the fire and remained a winged dog. But it is enough to study many images to make sure that this is not a creature, in the usual sense. The image of Semargl is a pictogram. The symbol of what is not visibly present, but has a property, and performs some functions.

Similar images are found on the territory of modern Greece, Turkey and North Africa.
But research needs to be published, money is paid for. And off we go. Wonderful speculations were born about a golden-maned horse of a silver suit, about the fact that Semargl left a scorched mark wherever his horse's foot went, etc. The logic of scientists who assert that Semargl was the keeper of seeds and crops is incomprehensible. Is it with such and such properties? To incinerate everything after yourself?

At night, Semargl stands guard with a fiery sword and only one day a year he leaves his post, responding to the call of the Bather, who calls him to love games on the day of the Autumn Equinox. And on the day of the Summer Solstice, after 9 months, children are born to Semargl and Kupalnitsa - Kostroma and Kupala."

Then the whole world began to look for correspondences in foreign beliefs and myths. Both Indian Agni and Eastern European Rarog were attracted here. And all because it never occurs to anyone that Semargl is not a creature and not God at all. It's a process! This is energy! The closest one on the same step with Semargl is the Arian Simurg, in my opinion.
Simurg (Avest. "Mərəγō saēnō", whence later the infantry "Sēnmurw" and Persian "سیمرغ", Tajik The tree of life. It is also known in the mythology of the Turkic-speaking peoples of Central Asia and the Volga region.

And here you can draw direct analogies with Semargl. He was also always depicted surrounded by floral ornaments. He was credited with the role of the guardian of the Tree of Life, which stores all existing plants on Earth, in one place, on one trunk.
Thus, we can easily notice here an echo of the cargo cult, in which the descendants were given knowledge about a certain "ark" of flora, where the seeds of all the plants in the world are kept, in case any suddenly disappears. What would be the genetic material for the reconstruction of the lost species. Aren't there such “arks” today? Exist. Worldwide. In our country, such an ark is built in Yakutsk, in the permafrost, at great depths, where samples of all plants will be preserved indefinitely without electricity, and generally without human intervention.

Why not assume that the Tree of Life is a similar ark left for us by our ancestors? Then Semargl, guarding this ark, is not at all some kind of dog with wings, but some kind of energy that can give life to preserved plant specimens! And of course this energy is related to the sun. This is a kind of "trigger" for the revival of life on Earth after its death during the next global cataclysm.
I am not claiming anything. I just suggest you think about it. Is this version really so fantastic? After all, she explains what is lacking for understanding by modern culturologists! And at the same time it does not contradict anything that is known from myths.
