Probably the most famous and terrible ghost in the capital of Great Britain has taken up residence in one of the buildings in Berkeley Square. This ghost managed to very much scare at least three Englishmen. According to one version, it was about a little boy who could not survive the fright and died in the children's room of this house. People claim that the sinister ghost of this child can often be seen in this room.

The following story mentions the ghost of a young girl who in former times lived in a house with her shameless uncle.

To save herself from persistent harassment, the girl decided to commit suicide by jumping out of the top floor window. After that, there were witnesses who say that they saw the ghost of a poor girl, who called for help, standing on the window cornice.

Another story tells about the ghost of a terrible pale-skinned man. At some point no one lived in the house, and two sailors decided to spend the night in it. Suddenly, in the middle of the night, they were awakened by loud footsteps on the stairs. The ghost of a man entered the bedroom. Seeing in the darkness who this night visitor, one of the unfortunate sailors, was, he was scared to death that he decided to jump out of the window to save himself. However, he did not manage to escape, he crashed to death. His bosom friend, who survived that night in the house, was found on the street the next morning. The sailor lost his memory from fear.

This English mansion during the time of Queen Victoria won such great fame that whole pilgrimages began to be arranged to him. One very curious Englishman, Lord Littleton, even decided to spend the night in a house that was inhabited by ghosts. He brought 2 pistols to the house, which he loaded with buckshot and special bullets made of silver coins. The fearless nobleman was sure that such bullets would provide him with one hundred percent protection from the dark forces.

It is widely believed that since the construction of this mansion, two more Englishmen died within its walls, unable to survive the fright. Once in the house, they found a maid crying loudly on the floor. She was taken to a local hospital, where she actually died the next morning.

The doctors tried to find out from her what had frightened her so. But she did not want to tell about what happened to her, but only repeated - it was "so terrible."
