Over the past few years, when both independent and even dependent US seismologists have paid attention to the increased activity of the Yellowstone supervolcano, when even a blind person could see the planned evacuation of the American continent, the attention of many thousands of people has been riveted on the USGS sensors located in the caldera.

During this time, many strange things happened to the sensors. They work, they don't work, then they show absolutely not what the USGS is about, says the official. However, the readings of the sensors for March 24th have surpassed everything imaginable and inconceivable.

We open the sensor readings Lake, Yellowstone Park, WY (LKWY) for March 24:

On the seismogram, we see something that can be interpreted as a breakdown: the sensor either writes or does not write, and it does not write most of the time. Everything is good.

However, let's take a look at other seismograms from that day:

Thus, on three more sensors, we see exactly the same picture. What could it be?

The situation of simultaneous breakdown of four sensors at once is extremely unlikely. And that probability becomes ridiculously small if we assume that all four have the same breakdown. This does not happen even in science fiction films, even in The Asylum studio they know the measure.

However, everything is explained very simply.

Suppose that there is a downscaling program on the readings of the sensors that enter the network after preprocessing and digitizing the signal. Such that when it comes to shocks with a strength of 2 points, it automatically reduces the amplitude of the signal to the equivalent of 1 point. A magnitude 4 earthquake will be displayed as a magnitude 2 - and so on.

And what if the strength of the jolts suddenly drops sharply? And it will be exactly what we see on seismograms. That is, a decrease in weak shocks generally to zero, as a result of which a dashed line appears. We observe it on 4 sensors simultaneously.

Hence the explanation of what is happening is very simple: either the tremors in the caldera stopped abruptly and the downward program issued an intermittent cycle, or this downward program broke down and began to reduce the seismic shocks to zero.

In both cases, an obvious conclusion follows: USGS does not show the true state of affairs in the caldera, and Yellowstone sensors always show a strongly underestimated amplitude of real seismic events.
