For the first time in history, a case of a robot attacking a person was recorded. This incident happened in the Chinese town of Shenzhen at the IT exhibition, the Sina website reports.
The exposition presented many different goods and services in the field of high technologies. The creators of one of the stands presented to the public a small robot similar to the character from "Star Wars" - R2-D2.
The main mission of the robot is to educate children and delight visitors. It is not known why, the "droid", left unattended, began to break the stand, which was near it. And when one of the workers approached the robot, in order to understand what was happening, the robot moved his leg.
The robot's weight was found to be sufficient to cause serious injury. An ambulance was called for the injured man. The victim could not move independently and a stretcher was needed to transport him.
The creators of the robot cannot explain the reason for this behavior.
