Iraqi Transport Minister
The Iraqi minister claims that the ancient Sumerians discovered and visited Pluto in spaceships thousands of years ago.
Iraqi Transport Minister Kazem Finjan told reporters that an ancient civilization built the world's first cosmodrome in Iraq in 5000 BC.
The Sumerians represent the oldest known civilization that existed on the territory of Iraq and reached its peak from 2.700 to 2.400 BC.
They are believed to have settled in the historical region of southern Mesopotamia, which is now southern Iraq. Here they developed agriculture, trade and crafts such as weaving, ceramics and metalwork.
The New Arab writes that Finjan claims that the launch site served as a hub for space exploration, and Pluto was discovered through space travel. However, the Sumerians falsely claimed that Pluto is the "Twelfth Planet" of the solar system, recently discovered by NASA.
In support of his words, Finjan called on the skeptical audience to study the works of the Sumerians, as well as the works of, for example, the Russian (Ukrainian-born) expert Professor Samuel Kramer.
The academician wrote about the ancient Sumerian knowledge of the structure of the solar system, which is manifested in the myths about creation.
