These photographs of "ghosts" were found by the curator of the National Media Museum in one of Lancashire's antique shops. All these photographs were taken by the famous spiritualist William Hope (William Hope, 1863-1933).

William Hope was born in 1863 in Crewe, England. He worked as a carpenter. Around 1905, he became interested in photographing ghosts after discovering a strange image in one of his photographs. He founded the Crewe Circle, a group of six photographers. When Archbishop Thomas Colley joined the group, they began publishing their work. After the First World War, many became interested in the activities of the "Circle of Kru". There are many interested, grieving relatives who have lost loved ones in the war and are looking for a way to contact them.

In 1922, Hope moved to London, where he began working as a professional medium. The photographs of Circle Kru have been researched for various reasons.

The most famous study took place in 1922, when the Society for Psychical Research sent Harry Price to check the validity of the results from the Circle of Cru. Price has collected evidence that Hope faked photos of ghosts. Later that year, Price released his research, claiming Hope was a fraud. However, many of Hope's most ardent supporters have come out in defense of the photographer, the most famous of whom is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. William Hope died in London on March 7, 1933.

The priest and his wife took part in a seance, during which an otherworldly voice was heard, claiming that it was their stillborn daughter Rose. The voice asked them to take a picture, claiming that she would try to appear on it. Rose is not visible in the image. But the image of a man is clearly visible, who was later identified as the long-dead father of the priest. (about 1920)
