Geneticists from the University of Oxford claim that they have established the origin of an unknown creature allegedly living in Gornaya Shoria, a region located in the southern part of the Kemerovo region.

In the winter of 2009, there were reports that in the area of the Azass cave, located 18 km from the village of Ust-Kabyrz, hunters saw a hairy creature three meters tall. And in 2010, a research expedition discovered Bigfoot's hut - bent trees that form a hut.

But the scientists who visited the Kemerovo region were most interested in the local resident Afanasy Kiskorov, who claims to have saved the Yeti drowning in the river. According to Kiskorov, while fishing, he heard strange sounds - either howling or screaming. A group of fishermen rushed to the place where the noise was coming from, and saw a creature covered with dark hair in the water.

Athanasius decided to help the sinking giant and handed him a log lying nearby. As soon as Bigfoot was on land, he immediately disappeared from the eyes of the startled fishermen.

The interest of researchers and tourists is diligently fueled by local residents, who talk about prints of huge bare feet and footprints that indicate the presence of a yeti: characteristic fractures of branches and skins of killed animals.

Despite the number of witnesses, who are growing every year, no one has yet managed to establish the exact location and catch the Bigfoot, even Nikolai Valuev, who came to Gornaya Shoria to capture the mysterious giant.

Local hunters also continue to go into the taiga to find the yeti, because the governor of the Kemerovo region, Aman Tuleyev, promised a million rubles to the one who would catch the Bigfoot.

The enthusiasm for the Yeti, which gripped the Russians, also interested geneticists at the University of Oxford, who decided to analyze the wool collected in various caves and, according to the researchers, is the fur cover of Bigfoot.

“We took three types of wool found in three different caves of Gornaya Shoria and conducted a DNA test. The first specimen, long, thick hair, belonged to a black bear (Ursus americanus) of North America. The growth of these animals reaches two meters, which corresponds to the words of people who have seen Bigfoot. The remaining two samples are raccoon and horse fur.

The presence of a black bear on the territory of Russia is an extraordinary phenomenon, but an explanation can be found for everything. Apparently, the animal escaped from the zoo or from the owner of a private zoo,”says Professor Brian Sykes, who led the group of geneticists.
