Gypsy magic is one of the most widespread magical rituals on earth. Everyone at least once in their life has come across this at train stations, markets, subways or just on the street. For many, annoying attempts to tell fortunes are very annoying. In Sweden, for example, it turned out that the citizens and officials of this most tolerant country, because of fortune-tellers, are extremely hostile to all gypsies, seemingly tolerant Swedes suspect them of shady dealings and witchcraft, but why? What is gypsy magic? Why are they so afraid of her, in seemingly enlightened Europe, and no one, but world-famous Swedish atheists?

In Cambodia, a tournament of magicians is held annually. Wizards who have come from different parts of the world compete with each other in witchcraft and fortune telling: snake charmers from Bengal, Tibetan sages-hypnotists, African Voodoo priests, but for several years in a row completely different people have occupied the first place.

Gypsies are an ancient people, in the Middle Ages they were considered immigrants from Egypt, who took over the secrets of the priests hidden in the pyramids. Then it was established that their homeland was a completely different ancient country - India. As if in search of the "promised land" the tribe wandered around the world, crossing the seas, oceans and surviving in the most difficult conditions.

Gypsy magic was born as a means of self-defense. Nomadic people now and then constantly faced with strangers and had to be able to stand up for themselves, the offended gypsy was usually not afraid of punishment from the authorities, the gypsies were always outlawed, the offender had to be afraid of something completely different: curses, evil eye and damage.

The victims of gypsy curses and predictions were not only ordinary people, but also the mighty of this world. To the young Peter I, a gypsy whom he jokingly pushed from the pier during a trip to Amsterdam, predicted to him that he himself would find his death in the waves, and so the emperor got a serious cold, saving his ships during a flood in St. Petersburg.

And SS Obersturmbannfuehrer Adolf Eichmann, on whose conscience the extermination of about 1,500 gypsies, one of the gypsy barons predicted: "The Nazis will soon lose the war and no matter how you hide, retribution will find you." After Hitler's death, Eichmann fled to Argentina and lived there for 10 years under an assumed name, until he was kidnapped by the Israeli and US special services and, instead of a quiet old age, he faced the death penalty.

Gypsy hypnosis is the most powerful in the world, in order to put a person into a trance state, a fortuneteller does not need to ask him for permission, you do not need to make any beautiful passes with your hands or use a magic pendulum, and all because possession of hypnosis has saved gypsies from starvation for centuries.

No one is immune from gypsy magic. You run the risk of becoming a victim of it at the train station or just on the street in broad daylight, and according to statistics, today only 1% of the gypsies living in the world lead a nomadic lifestyle and are engaged in fortune-telling. Most lead an ordinary life: they go to work like everyone else, get paid, but there are rumors that there are several professions that the so-called "professional" Roma do not recommend to their fellow tribesmen: cleaning the streets, working in a factory and, oddly enough, journalism. Maybe because sorcerers and fortune-tellers are afraid of divulging their secrets?
