Sunbury is a former mental hospital in the Australian city of the same name. It was opened in 1879 and stopped operating in 1985, after which it became a popular attraction for ghost hunters and other supernatural lovers. The building was renovated with private funds, and today, for a small fee, you can walk through gloomy corridors and empty chambers.
Straightjackets, electroconvulsive therapy, lobotomies and abominable conditions of detention were at one time a nightmarish reality for the unfortunates who were locked in this terrible place. The most hopeless madmen who could not be cured and who simply lived out their days here were sent to Sunbury. That is why many believe that the building has become the abode of countless spirits of former patients - creepy ghosts.
Tours of the haunted mental hospital are organized both during the day and at night. It is easy to guess that in the dark there are many more people who want to tickle their nerves. One of these night excursions was recently made by an Australian woman named Ebony Tot-Littlewood. The woman took many photographs, and when she looked through the images, she suddenly noticed something in one of them that defies rational explanation.
The photo taken from outside the hospital shows a vague human silhouette right on the edge of the building's roof. The author of the picture claims that no one was there at the time of shooting. Ebony was even more surprised when she remembered the guide's story that in the twenties of the last century a patient from here managed to climb onto the roof and jump down. She died three days later from injuries sustained in the fall.
Skeptics are convinced that this is not a native of the other world, but an ordinary pipe on the roof. They say that Thoth-Littlewood, photographing the structure, simply did not attach any importance to it, but in the picture the pipe appeared in the form of a pale figure, vaguely resembling a human. And our brain, as you know, is used to looking for something familiar in all obscure images, so it seems to many that this photo shows a person.
