800 cases of swine flu have been registered in Kazakhstan since the beginning of the epidemiological season. This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Rights of the Ministry of National Economy - Chief State Sanitary Doctor Zhandarbek Bekshin in response to an official inquiry from the Kazinform agency.

“Since the beginning of the epidemiological season (since October 1, 2015), more than 350 thousand cases of ARVI have been registered, including 911 laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza, including A (H1N1) (swine flu) - 800 cases or 87.3%. The main share of cases is in children under 14 years of age and accounts for 70% of the total morbidity. Compared to the same period last year, the incidence is at the level of last year,”he explained to Kazinform.

In August 2010, the Director General of the World Health Organization announced the completion of the 6th phase of pandemic influenza caused by influenza A / H1N1-pandemic. From now on, this influenza virus is called A / H1N-09 and is classified as a seasonal flu.
